Eventually, Shift and FF6402 would make the transition from bitter archrivals to girlfriends (like you do. Very common storytelling trope, pretty sure it's part of every hero's journey). They each found vital purpose in fighting one another, and in fighting, they came to understand one another. They came to each feel, gradually and with each new clash of skill and strength, that their respective rival was perhaps the only person in their lives who truly saw them as they were. Shift reached out to the Mobian heart still (figuratively) alive inside 402, and they found that in one another they finally had somewhere they could just be loved.
