Sort of a speedpaint, but I spent more time on it than I should have I think.
This wasn't intended to be anything alien at first, but it seemed to come off that way about halfway through. =3 I just wanted to practice mountains. I like how it turned out overall, and it was fun to mold the landscape this way and that. Enjoy! =D

Very nice. I love the mountains in the background and the cliff in the foreground. Not a huge fan of the lake but still looks pretty nice.
I think the one thing that throws me off is the dark sky. You've indicated a bit of green light on the top right of the picture, but the mountains and landscape seem lit by something brighter. Maybe a brighter light source might fix this?
Again, great work. You're improving a lot on your technique already!

The reason the sky is dark was at first, I was imagining having a cloud deck back there. You know how when you look at a storm coming on the prairie, you'll have bright land but the sky will be a dark pale blue. (provided the sun isn't blocked of course) That's what I went for at first, but then it ended up not reading quite like that. =P I see where you're coming from though.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I was going to say that this puts me in mind of some of my favorite moments of exploring in the original Mass Effect, but I notice you already got a similar comment and I don't want to betray how much I like the originality of this lovely landscape! Out of all the ones I favorited not so long ago I was waiting til last to fave this one so I could gawk at it for a bit in my favorites. I absolutely love the look of this! The quietness of it, the rampant greenery unburdened by structure, the craggy rocky surrounds. This is a top notch scene to be sure! A great job and well deserved of the fave!!!
