Intentional. I based my Wu Sisters on Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee, though there are significant differences and they all grew or changed beyond those roles. Also, the relationship Xiu had with her mother is different from Azula and Ursa in that because Qing was evil, she was more like Ozai. Still, the similarity remains to create an unusual melding of both.
