BronyCon on Friday, August 2nd, was pretty awesome. Though I don’t remember much about it outside of spending great times with
aricub,
wayward_pony, and
Boom along with my son, Daft Chicken.
One nice thing was how all the adult body-pillows and lude artwork had either been moved to more discrete locations, or had simply sold out. This made my son feel better as he still couldn’t grasp why someone would want such an item and/or such suggestive imagery.
Oh! Friday was the day I went with my son to get him involved in the ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ tournament. The room was far too loud for me and Buddy, so I ended up heading outside where it was less hectic while Daft waited his turn in the tournament. This action was most fortunate as I got to meet a really great FiM Fiction pal, Foal Star. Foal Star met me when I was on my last legs with my eyesight and wrote me a note on FiM Fiction on how he wanted to write fun stories that I could enjoy even without my physical eyesight. Well, I can assure you all that he not only succeeded in this but also has become quite the noteworthy author in the process.
Daft didn’t get past the first round in the Smash tournament but still had fun trying. It was at this point that Doodle, Saphy, daft, and I prepared to partake in the ‘Cosplay café’. This was, in my opinion, money well spent as they had a series of skits going on while cosplayers came by and helped to serve drinks and food. The cosplayers we had were Rarity and Spike.
The neatest part of meeting Cosplay Spike is how, over the remainder of the convention, I managed to find him at least three more times. In our last meeting he gave me a Spike plush! Given how scarce Spike-related content was at the convention, along with him being an obvious Spike fan, I was deeply touched by the gesture.
The next highlight was getting my autographs from Cathy Weseluck and Bonnie Zacherl. This didn’t quite go as I had hoped due to how crowded the autograph region was. In the past, the autograph area was kept away from the mane Events Hall and Vendor Hall. This year we had the largest turnout and they had autographs right between these other two major zones. So it felt like you needed to rush as any discussion you could have was being drowned out by the herd. (I really wanted to have a more quiet and relaxed moment with Cathy but I am still elated for the two autographs I got. You’ve seen the one Doodle Noodle did but another friend also did one that I still need help scanning in.)
Moving on was another great highlight of the adventure. This was meeting
LeonXIII!
Leon arrived around 5:00 PM and my son and I went down to greet him down in the lobby of our hotel. We then walked together to get his badge for the convention on Saturday before spending some time back at The Oriole restaurant in our team’s hotel.
If bronyCon has done one thing well it has been granting me a chance to meet some wonderful friends outside of the internet. The time spent with Leon was great and I am hopeful, as with everyone else I’ve met through BC, optimistic that we’ll meet once more in real life.
The remainder of the day was spent just hanging out with the team in the hotel room. It was nice to just enjoy a BronyCon without obligating myself to attend all sorts of panels and/or events. Daft was having fun, I was having fun, and it was super good times with Doodle, Saphy, and Wayward.
The panel was on Saturday so I will wait until the next entry to go any further. Thanks for participating in our adventure with me!

Well, in his and similar author's work, anything diaper-related is almost an instant dislike. *Sighs*
There's a lot of really good ones but I can't remember names off-hand. Though, if you are open to it, you can go through my Favorites area and find those I saw as gems in the collection. This, of course, doesn't encompass those works I may have missed but I have made sure to fave as many of his works as possible. :)

Foal Star has a lot of really wonderful content. Most of what I most enjoyed are the tales where he brings in some very fun OCs in like 'Bucket Bridle', 'Bright Wing', and one other I, sadly, forget at this time. I know 'Cannon' was in his name.
He also developed some fun characters. One of great note is Nanny DeFoal. She's an elusive character who does a good number on Spoiled Rich.
He also did two super fun stories with Spike. One was kind of like Final Fantasy and another was kind of an adventure book that Moondancer got ahold of that resulted in a story where Starlight was made into a foal for a week.
One day, I should reread some of these works. Foal Star does a great job and his content is always a great dose of cute and comedy with just a dash of drama.
