Hate? You sir, have an exagereated concept of hate I'm afraid.

Ma'am. And no not really. What's the point in drawing yourself being unreasonably rude to another artist? What's the issue? If you have a problem with them, resolve it like an adult instead of drawing this kind of rude, uncalled for artwork, if you can even call it art. It's unnecessary. For someone who claims to be nice and friendly, this is definitely not showing that trait.

First: "Drawing yourself being unreasonably rude to another artist?" I drew MY CHARACTER being hurtful to ANOTHER CHARACTER. It's called FICTION. I have not in any way made a statement that I hate the person, nor I insulted them or made a racist comment toward them. I enjoy the work of GillPanda, but I PERSONNALY think the design of Battu is not SPECIAL (to me it's a Chua from Wildstar with a third eye.).

Second: Art: Expression of an aesthetic ideal; set of creative human activities aimed at this expression. I made a drawing, I express an opinion throught a creative human activity. You don't like the aesthetic or the idea, deal with it, it's still art. And by the way, making money throught art just for the sake of making money isn't being an artist, it's being a seller but I digress...

And third: "Claiming to be nice and friendly" I wrote this description 5 YEARS AGO. People change, I did change. And being always nice, friendly and smiling? Either way I would be a machine or a big hypocrite.

Anyway, I won't continue this arguing with you, lady. I think we both have better things to do.

It's still kind of pointless to draw something you obviously have an issue with. If you enjoy the artists work that's fine. If you don't like the character that's also fine, but this just seems like a bit if a rude way of expressing that. And yes you are right, people change. But this isn't a change you should be happy about. Be the bigger person and face issues like a grown man, rather than making stuff like this.. It's just kind of petty, if I'm honest and I think many would agree. And if you have better things to be doing, why on earth did you do this? Either way its childish.

Alright, let's put this out of the way.

You are within you right of opinion to dislike the character. As much as Gillpanda's creation seems to have gotten a positive reaction, I do not disagree that it isn't all that innovative or great. Even her personality is t anything to write home about and so far, her backstory is run-of-the-mill, especially if you Gill enough.

Now as to why she is popular, is the same reason Stan Lee made his comic characters popular. Gill has strong and positive relationship with the fandom, wether due to large amount of commission she does, and simply inputting a lot of high quality content. And yes, it is high-quality. So Battu, as a creation and extension of herself, wasn't simply allowed to be a character that only belonged to Gill, but to the fandom as a whole. And she is always happy for any and all gifts given to her around the character, thus fueling the relationship further.

TLDR, it's not that the character is great or anything, it's that the creator advertised her competently.

Now, as for your comic here. You can show disagreement. But at least do so with taste. Taking Gill's character, something she created and has pride in, and painting it as petty attention whore is disrespectful. Gill is a person like you and me, and she may end up coming across your work here, and how do you think she may feel? As someone who tries their damnest to make likeable and interesting characters, having someone misrepresent your character (Battu, if she were accurate, would basically shrug and say "eh, can't win them all!" And go back to partying with others) would feel shitty.
Now I don't think Gill would care that much, considering she must have had to deal with despicable assholes, so tasteless jab means nothing, but how about instead acting like a dick for someone getting mad at you, realize where you went wrong.
