I had a weird dream a couple days ago of these squat fish-men that became a new playable race for the Alliance in World of Warcraft. Their appearance seems to be a combination of several races prominent in the newest content patch. These guys are a bit shorter than a human, around the overall size of a dwarf, have a hunched posture and run with a bit of a bounce, kinda like halfway between a run and a frog's hopping. I forget their name, I think I saw "Gillman", but I'm certain I was mistaken. Something in my head's telling me their race was called "Lophin". In any case, they don't really exist in WoW, but it was an interesting dream and I'd kinda like to play one.

i mean i imagine you of all people are kinda eager for mechagnomes a thing in the near future (at least most likely XP) theres also always the theory of sethrak joining alliance which would be neat to give them a second more monsterous looking race same with vulpera and the horde only having 1 maybe 2/3 not brutish looking races (namely blood elves and depending on how you count them the tauren)
I like shortstacks, but in context, I really don't like the Mechagnomes as an Allied Race. The Alliance is getting a terribly short end of the stick all through this expansion, and we need something distinct, new, and different from what we're getting. Mechagnomes are not that, they're virtually indistinguishable from the existing playable gnomes (a notoriously unpopular race) outside their cyborg parts. Which, given their backstory, come across as downright creepy and grotesque.
The race I'll support until the bitter end is Sethrak for the Alliance. They're completely distinct from our existing races, yet their culture of devout worship and seeking peace and unity (the Devoted Sethrak, not the evil Faithless group) fits the Alliance perfectly. We've even had positive interactions with them when there was no real need for Blizzard to even introduce us to them. So I think they absolutely should be the new Alliance race. Every great reason to add Vulpera to Horde (another race I support), the same reasons make perfect sense to let Sethrak join the Alliance.

oh i thoroughly agree comparing the factions the horde is more a rag tag group of outcasts with VERY varying different cultures what with the taurens worship of the earth mother the trolls and there loa and such.... whilst history has kinda had the gnomes and dwarves kinda assimilated into very similar life styles to humans the only clearly distinct culture is the night elves and dreanei seeing another more goddess worshipping race would be a nice addition
trust me id LOVE sethrak for the alliance given itd give them bother the as mentioned spice to alliance cultures and a visually distinct race i could just see them doing the mechagnome thing..... maybe theyll eventually do both? XD as someone who hasnt actually played wow recently i dont know how much interaction the alliance specifically has with the mechagnomes but given theyre actually next to kultiras i assume itd be easier to recruit them from a story perspective and maybe later on some of the devout sethrak will venture to kultiras to try and offer there own hand (after all they are native to zandalar and itd be abit odd to have an allied race rooted so closely in the enemies territory) just a thought first mechagnomes and vulpera then next set would be sethrak and...... i dunno some horde race im really not sure anymore XD;elven undead maybe given theyre a new thing happening that would kinda put dark rangers in as playable?

Oh don't worry. The Alliance races have a ton of potential. It's not that the Horde innately has more story potential, it's that Blizzard doeesn't care about the Alliance, so they half-ass their story and content.
And yeah, sadly since Blizzard doesn't give a shit, the Sethrak have faded out of focus while they push Mechagnomes on us (sure some people said they wanted Mechagnomes, myself included, but we wanted the full-robot ones from Wrath of the Lich King, not these weird and gross cyborgs). -_-

oh i know the alliance certainly has potential i mean this expansion especially has pushed the night elves DOING SOMETHING for once and last expansion on the dreanei going home to fix what happened in the past so i certainly know they have potential its just the plot usually focuses on the humans with the other races (unless your names genn) pushed to the side the other interesting characters that are alliance races are neutral aswell like magni and khedgar
the argument ive HEARD for why true mechagnomes wouldnt happen is because they arnt super expressive which bare in mind i havnt really seen them in action so i might be utterly wrong on that fact but thats one reason ive heard thrown around and i could see that being blizzards logic and the cyborg gnomes being a 'compromise' whether its a good compromise comes down to personal taste but i think thats there logic
and heck if the argument (which ive also heard) that full titan forged arnt big on the personality then thats easy have these mechagnomes instead of being cyborgs he in some kinda stasis and having there consciousness transported into a robot body thus they keep there normal personalities just a different body (and heck given last i checked mekatorque is still in a frozen coma thing that could segway VERY nicely into the same result) least thats my thoughts on the matter but hey i havnt played much of the game furthest ive gotten is level 40 and only done 2 zones XD so the heck do i know

Yeah. :/ It's always humans even though Alliance players constantly ask for less human focus. When you take a look at Kul Tiras and see nothing but humans, humans, humans, complete with all our mounts being horses against the varied exciting mounts the Horde got alongside other interesting characters and races, and the fact that they literally passed off fat humans as a seperate race, it's clear the problem is just how Horde-biased Blizzard are.
People say that as though full-robot Mechagnomes would literally just be the Wrath models without the obviously necessary updates they'd get if they were a player race. Plus the robotic Mechagnomes are shown to have emotions and individual desires in lore, it's why the dwarves even exist now instead of remaining locked in stasis (because the last of the Mechagnomes watching over their stasis knew she, yes SHE, was dying and couldn't bear the thought of the earthen (proto-dwarves) remaining sealed and forgotten, so she used the last of her life to release them to find their own destiny). People are idiots, and either just want mediocre lazy options because their minds can't handle real excitement, or they're spiteful assholes who just want the Alliance players to feel even more hated and neglected than we already do.

eh based on what i see its less of a horde biased and more a human biased personally i dont mind kul tirans i just wish they had abit more of a difference than being... larger... i get why i mean unlike the gilneans (who are basically just normal humans outside of worgen form) there isnt much to be done at least them being druids is kinda neat im not entirely sure why the other races of the alliance kinda... arnt doing anything.... i mean tyrande started doing something and then decided... to not do more XD the dwarves i dont think have done much aside the dark irons joining in properly and mekatorque has done more than ever before and immediately got put into a sort of coma meanwhile velen is apparently having a vacation (i mean he deserves it after legion but even so) and genn is the only none human leader really... doing anything
i mean its arguable if doing nothing is better than infighting part 2 which is all thats happening on the horde side of things honestly its a great thing that everyone was dragged to nazajtar cos ashara is the only one doing jack shit!
i feel every time you post something wow related i end up accidentally hijacking the comments with wow talk ^^;

No, it's straight-up Horde bias. Zandalar is incomparably better than Kul Tiras. And no matter how overexposed the humans are, and how little use the other Alliance races get, the Horde races always get their time to shine. The Alliance are nothing but an afterthought in the entire plot of the expansion, we're there solely to bail the Horde out from their mistakes while they conveniently get absolved of all their blame in a literal genocide.
The Horde get everything and still think they have any right to bitch. It's why Mechagnomes are such a disappointment, it's undeniable proof that Blizzard are outright ignoring the feedback they get from the Alliance, while they'll drop everything to add extra paths with permanent choices to the Horde storyline, just because the Horde sociopaths wanted to stay loyal to the genocidal maniac.

Compare the two continents. Zandalar has: Tons of interesting exciting chars, many new races to see and even work with, plot-critical events, three big awesome plotlines for each zone that still tie in perfectly with the ultimate villain of the continent. There's so much going on, and a bunch of cool bonuses including two unique mount-raising questlines in addition to all the unique and exciting mounts the Horde already gets.
Compared to Kul Tiras: no allies but humans, the plotlines are boring and inconsequential except for one tiny bit of Azshara (who only appears in a dungeon), and none of them mesh together at all, since the primary villain does pretty much nothing the entire time. The Kul Tirans themselves are the worst concept for a playable race possible, and around 80% of Kul Tirans don't even use the Kul Tiran model, including all but two major characters, one of whom has a unique model design anyway.
