Tharkis wanted one of those nifty kitsune masks to take home from Tokyo to remind them of the cool Inari shrines and architecture. This particular mask it seems was possessed by the spirit of a mischievous kitsune, who thinks that tharkis should be a lot cuter and fluffier. Upon removing the mask, she finds that her face has formed to match the inside of the mask, and she's now got quite the fluffy tail too!

Maybe the kitsune was confused by the kilt and thought tharkis was supposed to be a girl.... or maybe she didn't care and thought tharkis looked better as one, either way, she's going to be returning from Japan with a more lasting souvenir than she planned on !
