[Timeline Synchronization Complete. System Calibrating Complete. Date Set: 02/06/2019]
Miranda was somewhere so foreign yet very familiar. Like she'd been there before, a long time ago. Surely it was just the system for viewing the founder's memories in its first run at memory replay. But it was just so real, the breeze in her hair, the waves crashing against the cliffs, and a warm feeling in her chest. She'd have to dial back the immersion settings after the file finished running, and perhaps set it to the third person. But suddenly she was back in the moment, taking a backseat to the movements being performed.
"Hehe, you big lug! Can't we sit a little while longer? I wanna see the birds roosting on the rocks!" She said, in a voice much like her own, but more youthful, less boggled by the stresses of work. She spun to see who accompanied her, heart aflutter with affection that she knew wasn't really her own, just the relived feelings of someone long passed. "I was actually thinking of finding a better spot! I know a place, one that my friend would ride to with his other best friend. He'd always say it was such a calm place, and that the view from the hills was the most serene thing this side of the valley." The brown wolf said, piercing blue eyes holding her gaze. She could see why the founder was with him, if he was indeed who Miranda thought. He was handsome, in a scruffy kind of way, what with his wild hair, unkempt facial fur, and worn jacket.
"But that's his spot! C'mon, we need our own spot for it to be ours! We can get together sometime for their spot, but bring them to ours! Please?" She pouted, feeling her lips and eyebrows droop to drive her point. The wolf snickered and nodded in agreement. "Okay okay, I see your point! Yeah, it would be kinda weird. Okay then, Mir, what've you got in mind? He asked, walking over to his motorcycle and walking back. Miranda wasn't certain about the founder's name or face, no one was, only seeing a few pictures of her, and occasionally someone else, but both very obscured. "Can I sit in front, Del? I'm just not tall enough to hang out behind you." She asked, tapping the wolf's shoulder and clasping her hands behind her back, rocking on her heels. She certainly acted like a youth, Miramda wondering just how old the two were, since everything about the founder was clouded in mystery.
"Hmm? Oh, oh yeah, of course! I don't think that this bike was really the best choice for a passenger when I got it." Del replied, moving an arm so she could sweep a leg over the seat. She gripped his hands as he placed his helmet on her head, smelling of mint, flipping the visor up. "Safety first!" Del shouted, and then they were away, heading down the road, racing past a sparse amount of vehicles. They were now at a path towards a lighthouse, overlooking the whole coast as it jutted from the landscape. There were trash cans, road signs, and benches along the wooden fencing, but a separate path led to the lighthouse base. There was a small weathered sign, perhaps the name of the towering beacon, now only a relic of times even further passed.
"Special enough? My buddy and I would always race here on bikes or down on the beach. I haven't seen him in maybe two or three years since I moved. But he's told me he's still going steady with his old best friend, well, girlfriend now. They're a perfect couple way he tells me, and I know it'll be soon when he asks that one important question. There's no way she'll say no, because I can tell things like that sometimes." Del went on, leaning against the railing. Miranda walked over and held his hand, both watching the sea, seeing seagulls pass by noisily, and enjoying the peace. Miranda wondered why this was important, but didn't question further, since it probably was, somehow.
They walked back to his bike, talking, laughing, doing couple things like nuzzle each other and get really close. It felt nice, as Miranda didn't have anyone in her life, as she wasn't certain she would or even could. They stopped at the vehicle and just held each other, contentment across their faces. "Del, I'm so glad to have met you. That day we met, you cruising past, lending a hand when my flight got canceled, it was fate. Even your amateur photography was touching, but it was nice." Miranda laughed, laying her head against him. He ran a hand through her hair, moving to her chin and lifting it up, locking eyes. "Well, I'm glad too. Also, I think any spot with you is special, no matter where, YOU make it special." Del replied. Miranda got on her tiptoes to kiss him, even licking his snout in a playful way. "Woah, hey, that was new. So, uh, think it's time to head back, Miranda?"
