Oh now, here we have Wolf Creek & Flagstone locomotive 5!
She is an Inside Frame 2-4-0 Tender loco and at the time of her purchase the largest locomotive on the roster! The locomotive was much larger than her Porter counterparts and unlike engine #4, her tender is much larger. #5's tender has 4 axles or 2 trucks, depending on your terminology, this alowed her to travel much further without needing to be refueled and watered. Originally built as a wood burner she was later converted to burning coal.
As for modeling this locomotive in On30 scale, I will take the Bachmann 2-4-4 Inside Frame Forney and chop off her back end. I'll hold on to the fuel bunker and her trailing truck as they may become useful on future projects.
Fortunately modeling her tender will be strait forward. "Wiseman Model Services" produces a Cast Resin "Shorty Tender" kit in On30 and is perfectly suited for my conversion project. The only major deal will be painting and DCC instalation.
