The Northern "Fluff" Dragons on the Shattered Islands are all irradiated with Extra Life Force due to an event that took place on the island they primarily colonized. This causes certain, strange Anomalies to happen to them. It does follow a few patterns as it happens though, and hopefully this information helps the islanders deal with them.
Basic Information: ELFAs are Extra Life Force Anomalies. They may activate in a Northern "Fluff" Dragon for various reasons:
1: They have been stressed out past their emotional limits, or they are physically defeated in their normal form. (ELFA defeat, as it is called.)
2: Their specific pattern is triggered by something the Fluffy does / doesn't want.
3: The Fluffy has triggered it themselves.
This is an extra form based on their internal wishes and desires. When an ELFA activates, the Fluff Dragon's health is fully restored and they proceed to behave in the ways their ELFA dictates they do. Generally, defeating an ELFA Fluff Dragon causes them to revert to normal unless they already entered ELFA defeat. They'll already feel hurt if they had entered ELFA defeat before, despite their rejuvenation.
As there are triggers for an ELFA's activation, there are triggers for each of the forms to revert to normal. Should they activate at an inopportune time, an islander should be prepared to deactivate them before they get out of hand.
Shadowism: The Fluff Dragon transforms into a dark silhouette and flourishes from it's self-created shadows as a darker, yet more refined version of itself, giving off vampire-like vibes. They are immune to Vitri-Oil and sometimes produce it themselves due to a non-shareable disease. They will seek eachother out to share plans, and they behave unpredictably around other creatures, sometimes they manipulate them and play mind games but other times they attack them. They are dangerous to an unprepared explorer.
Desires: To overhaul the current world and instate their own rule over it.
Triggers: The Fluffy gets Polluted and Dirtied. Especially vulnerable to Vitri-Oil. Or the Fluffy is infected with "dark thoughts" and is aloof for too long.
Reversal: Clean the Shadow Fluff Dragon with Water. After being spritzed enough, the oil runs off of them and they return to normal.
Dangerous Combination: Wyrmism and Virtue Bearer. The Shadow Fluff Dragon may delude itself into seeing Fluff Dragons with these activated as it's arch nemesis' and attempt to fight them to the death. Particularly devastating if the Shadow was triggered by an ELFA defeat previously. Shadow Fluffies can also delude themselves into being loyal Great Wyrm devotees and hurt the Goddess's name with their brazen efforts, as well as zero their chances of receiving her blessing. If their Life Force Beacon scheme to summon her works, she will be very upset with them.
Love: The Fluff Dragon's body mutates Tentacles and Magic Crystals on itself in key locations, sometimes removing it's wings. It always chases, defends, or kidnaps it's Object(s) of Affection with unyielding determination. It will be seen as unsettling and creepy by all bystanders, and evil by it's competitors. It either has no self-awareness of it's actions and morality, or doesn't care.
Desires: To be the only one with their Object of Love. This can be a Person or a Treasure.
Triggers: The Object of Desire is interacted with or threatened by someone else and the Fluff Dragon finds out it happened.
Reversal: Keep the Fluff Dragon separated from the Object of Affection and keep it restrained until it calms down.
Strange Quality and Dangerous Combination: All Fluff Dragons have plenty of love in them. this Love can affect other ELFAs. If this happens, the Fluff Dragon's desires will be much stronger and the Reversal conditions will be mixed with eachother. Needless to say, this makes subduing them much harder.
Extra Faces: The Fluff Dragon's body grows more Mouths and Eyes on it and it becomes extremely hungry. Unsettlingly common in a culture based around food.
Desires: Eat all the food in the area.
Triggers: The Fluff Dragon becomes hungry for too long, or it's suppressed it's true emotions too long as well.
Reversal: Restrain the Fluff Dragon and feed it slowly until it calms down.
Dangerous Combination: Shadow Fluff Dragons. If they become partners with one, it's desires will change instead to serving it without question, and the Reversal Conditions will change to needing to defeat the Shadow Fluffy that controls it. Only professional warriors and mercenaries should do this.
Glitch Phantom: The Fluff Dragon's local reality field begins to alter, and it loses control of the Laws of Physics. How it reacts to the environment is so unpredictable that Islanders are recommended to keep a reality anchoring charm with them so that the Fluff Dragon doesn't launch them in a strange direction or put it's arm through their chest because it was playing with the ability to phase through objects.
Desires: To escape reality or socializing with other creatures.
Triggers: being too anxious for a meeting or appointment, attempting to distance itself from all bystanders in a populated area.
Reversal: Good Luck. Either wait for the Fluff Dragon to calm down, or find a way to re-anchor it's Reality Field.
Dangerous Combination: Wyrmism. If the Glitch Phantom Fluffy receives the Great Wyrm's blessing, it will disappear and be reincarnated later as a Scaly Dragon with an old soul but without much memory of it's past life.
Wyrmism: The Fluff Dragon's body morphs into a True, Scaly Dragon. It's physical stats are super-boosted and it feels invincible. This is a Good ELFA, as the Fluff Dragon has not lost it's mind to a negative effect.
Downsides: It's mindset becomes even more draconic and it may seek to test the strength of it's former allies. It may also want to eat lesser creatures, which can include Fluff Dragons if it's serious enough. The transformation also does not last long, so if it's doing something only True Dragons can do and reverts to normal, it will get hurt badly. It lasts even shorter if the True Dragon DNA booster was used to achieve the form.
Triggers: The Fluff Dragon was a Great Wyrm devotee and received the Great Wyrm's blessing during a normal ELFA activation. Or the Fluff Dragon was injected with a True Dragon DNA Boosting Mutagen.
Reversal: Wait, or use a Fluff Dragon mutagen to reverse the effects.
Dangerous Combination: Love. Fluff Dragons Love Real Dragons. They may trigger many insane fanboys and girls by their appearance and transformation. It's hard to protect them in cities and villages. Also Shadowism, as they have to fight the Shadow Fluffies back.
Virtue Bearer: The Fluff Dragon embodies it's best trait, gains a large stat increase, and a special power to go with it respectively. This can be of Charity, Temperance, and Kindness, Diligence and Bravery, or Patience. A Generous Fluff Dragon will not spend resources on itself unless absolutely necessary and have the power to give strength to others. A Valorous Fluff Dragon can brave any challenge and do any duty without fail, even if it means surviving something fatal. And a Patient, tempered Fluffy can help others keep their cool and can create small fields of Slow Time as long as it's not in it.
Downsides: The Fluffy is much weaker and vulnerable once the effect wears off. It may feel useless until rested, and can be susceptible to a Negative ELFA activation afterwards.
Triggers: upon ELFA activation, it sees Light instead of Darkness or Insanity.
Reversal: Wait, or use the same triggers of the Fluff Dragon's negative ELFA. Great Wyrm help you if it's a Patient Fluffy and it doesn't use a Slow field on you, the triggers of it's negative ELFA won't work on it.
Dangerous Combination: Shadowism. If the Fluffy goes from Virtuous to Shadow Fluffy, it will feel like it has nothing left to lose and pull out all the stops to succeed at it's most risky schemes.
Closing Information: Fluff Dragons do not activate their ELFAs too often, and are both warm and welcoming to trusted islanders. Islanders should value their own safety first and foremost in all cases, as an ELFA-activated Fluffy can be dangerous. In the worst case scenario, the area's best teams will come to calm down ELFA defeated Fluffies or defeat normal-activated ones. An Islander should keep the Reversal conditions in mind and make sure that Fluff Dragons with the Shadowism condition stay out of trouble. Otherwise, A Fluff Dragon is a good companion to have. Some will assist their ally even in an ELFA-activated state. Feel honored if this happens, even when a Shadow Fluffy helps and that wasn't part of it's scheme. They always want to do good deeds, even if they can't handle everything all the time. These have been the Fluff Dragon ELFAs. Happy Adventuring!
