I will always remember him for "The Dentist Skit" which according to him was based on a real life experience with an incompetent dentist.
The man always went that extra mile for a smile.

One year, both Tim Conway and Harvey Corman were up for an Emmy award.
Conway couldn't be there, and he asked Corman to stand in for him. He gave Harvey a letter, and told him to read it if either of them won.
Tim Conway won, and Harvey dutifully read the letter.
It began, "If you're holding an Emmy with your name on it, congratulations. If you're holding an Emmy with my name on it, you were robbed."
A truly classy guy!

Tim Conway worked as a radio personality with Carol Burnett Show announcer Ernie Anderson in Cleveland OH in the 1950s and they released two 1960s comedy albums with Anderson as the straight man interviewer and Conway playing various unlikely comic book and novel characters.
Conway was a hoot on McHale's Navy as bumbling Ensign Parker. Ernest Borgnine made his name as two distinctive military characters as bullying Fatso Judson in From Here to Eternity and as slick funnier Captain McHale.
