Sorry for the poor quality, but I was having trouble coming up with ideas until last night...
In this picture, Kaffre seems to have confused the two piles of presents in the Bear household and isn't letting poor MJ near his birthday presents! Hopefully a grownup will put his straight so they can be friends again. I 'm not terribly happy with the facial features here. Kaffre looks mean rather than merely determined and MJ looks a bit too upset as well... What do you guys think?
I'll draw up a more complete version over the holidays when I'll hopefully be able to complete a number of other projects I'm behind on....

*giggle* Oops, that's an unfortunate misunderstanding. I think explaining it to Kaffre might be difficult, too - little kittens aren't very receptive to any argument that boils down to "MJ gets presents today but you don't". Especially since his own birthday was three whole weeks ago and long-forgotten by now! ^.^
Heehee, but it's a very cute pic. You're right that it does look a bit sad, since MJ seems so upset - this is a pic that definitely needs a happy ending, just to reassure sensitive viewers... ^.^

Well, I suppose that might be part of it... still mightn't it be better to have him wait and open both batches of presents all at once? Anyway, I think you're right that the whole "Birthday" argument might seem a bit suspicious to our vigilant young present-guardian, but perhaps he could be distracted somehow...
I'm not sure about changing the ending, but I think I will tone down both faces and maybe have a grownup show up to resolve things...

Eeep! You're right, sorry - I worked it out in my head, but forgot it wasn't November any more...
And you don't really need to tone down the facial expressions, they look great as they are. Just make sure the description tells everyone MJ's going to get his presents in the end! ^.^

As for the pic, I think it works out really well. Cubs get upset pretty easily especially on their birthday so the really sad look works well and the angry look of determination works well too since you didnt realize what the presents were all about. Why should a little bear get to open present early?

Hmmm I suppose you're right about MJ being worried about Kaffre's block of the presents, but in my defense it can be extra-hard to tell the difference between birthday and christmas parties. 'specially with spiffy tree and stuff all set up....
Kaffre's expression, however, still looks a bit off. Maybe just because of the quickness with which I drew him though... *thinks*

True, I get lots of ouches from mine, but Mommy says I'm too big for my mittens and that I'll learn how to retract and unsheath them consciously when I'm just a little bit bigger! Now if only I knew what "retract", "unsheath" and "consciously" meant I'd be all set! ^^
