A few people have asked about story and i was annoyed at the background showing through my animation. So here it is again.

Cartoons are now real. Think Bonkers, Roger Rabbit, and Cool-World kind of thing.
ToonTowns have opened up across the world. Despite aotuoritys' best efforts and help from intelligent Toons like Dr. EggHead or Ludwig Von Drake. No one can find a rhyme or reason. All tests on any cartoon subjects prove to be just...ink...oh well
Most Toons come from and stay in ToonTown(s). The ToonTowns may all be the same ToonTown. The farther you go into one the more and more cartoon rules apply. ToonTown(s) always are a lot bigger on the inside that the area there taking up. When ToonTown first showed up some areas of town/cities were flash-transformed into cartoons.
There are many different cartoons most are for entertainment and laughter and gags. Some are for action, some are for horror, etc...
Cartoons hold humans in high regards even if they don't act like it. A cartoon may trick and annoy people but never hurt non-toons.
Rarely a non-Toon (including plants and animals) will turn into a Toon. There is no set way this happens. A lighting bolt can come down and turn them with out them even noticing (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2977541/). Some crazy Toons could be running around and give someone a bugs-bunny style kiss and the kiss mark will spread over the person changing them, sometimes ink from a ToonTown will get on someone, or the ink will wake up and actively turn someone (Like in the shark girl above).
Changed Cartoons have a mind set of normally being; Crazy, mad, sad, arrogant, sleep, etc... it takes a lot of out side force to change there mood, or train of thought.
Cartoons say if someone doesn't want to be a Toon they just need to stop being one. But that's almost a lie. Anyone who's gotten toon flu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNULtNwrDRI) Will tell you that what ever mind set the toon is in; is the best thing in the world. Very Rarely someone will dislike being a toon and un-toon themselves.
People transformed will always be an aspect of themselves and/or a wish fulfillment.
In the case of the shark girl above (Who is still nameless): Average girl nothing to really speak of, Worries about what other people are thinking and worried that noon ever noticing her. Transform! Now shes over confident that she'll be noticed and and some what selfish.
Cartoons work with Tiny Toons rules. A toon is empower with the more and more people paying attention. So the more people scared by a horror cartoon the healthier he gets. The more people laughing at a funny cartoon the healthier he gets.
Toons with no audience become unhealthy out side a ToonTown. This isn't to say a toon needs a group of people following them around they just need to make someones life, somewhere, better. Even if it's a single person.
Toons are aware of people watching them and the watchers approval and disapproval.
Humans can take an emotions blow and come back from it. But a large injury to a human stays. Toons are the opposite, a Toon can take any kind of physical extreme and walk it off, but they can be seriously damaged emotionally alot more easily than humans. Our shark girl above if told by any random stranger on the street; that she looked like an 'ugly bag full of teeth' would run to ToonTown crying and most likely never come out again.
But we all like her.
Also this is story goes with alot of my picture but not all them. Some times i just want to draw a cartoon.

X3 I just can't seem to get enough of your shark girl toon (And the dolphin toon that 'guest starred' with her in that one pic). I'd love to have the chance to get as lucky as our toon ink victim here ;3
ASIDE from that...
Love the animation, as well as the full one! It's too hard to find actual hand-drawn animation these days. And while some might say it looks choppy (Something I'm fine with...it's an impossibility to perfectly draw every in-between frame. That's why we have brains to make up for the missing frames 8D) I find a really nice charm to it :3.

Okay, I'll tell others that they can do this. Thank you Toonvasion, for giving detail about the story of the shark girl's transformation. Also because of you I've started watching Bonkers again and I've also started to look for other cartoon TFs, which led me to a very good story that was written about a year ago about a woman who turned into a cartoon wolf by a mask that was given to her by her husband (since she collects masks as a hobby). The story continues on about the married couple looking into the other effects of the mask that's given the wife cartoony abilities and researching on who made the mask in the first place. It's very interesting on how a real life married couple as they try to cope with wacky things happening to her. Anyway, thank you for inadvertnly(sp?) helping me find this story and Merry Christmas.
Heh, interesting story. Ditto for being able to see the sequence sans background. Though I guess I actually prefer the background version to even sans it is still great.
For one, I don't think I'd have the dedication to be able to do 2d animation like you did.
Setting wise, it is interesting. You are showing you put a bit of development into your idea, at least.
Only thing I could note is regarding "Changed toons"(human made toons). The fan of transformation in me is interested in the concept, but on the other hand I can't help but feels like the new toons almost overwrite the human without coming back. That is maybe just me, but I think making the humantoons alternate between human and cartoon selves. Maybe on an emotional basis(since that seems to be a major factor for current "natural" cartoons and "changed" cartoons both)
For some reasons, I think it could lead to interesting developments as some of the "changed" 's human selves might try to rein their "toonselves" from going overboard, while some humans might actually come to either "embrace" or literally become "addicted" to their cartoon self and try to spend as much time as they can in it... in the "addicted" 's case, quite possibly at the expense of work and everything else in their human life.
Heh, mind you, no need to take what I write seriously. This is mostly the concept-addict in me(the same one that found the "build a concept" part of my first semester's final team project in 3d animation to be my favorite), who likes to analyzes various concepts and gives his thoughts on them(like I sometimes say, back in 3d, my favorite thing was to listen to a person describing their concept and then for me, as they still describe it, try to sketch what they are describing... and then see if that was close to their vision, if it wasn't, or if they like it even more even if it wasn't... it's mostly because I enjoy designing and listening to other who does too, so all in all, do not see any critic of your work here, it's awesome so far :)

A kin-spirit. Just about everything you've mention here is something I've rake my mind over with. I wanted to just keep the story simple and say 'cartoons are happening in real life' But I always have to add detail and analyzed everything.
The Changed Toons are overwrite by the Toon mostly. The Tooned-mind controls what thoughts and actions go through but it's the person who comes up with the thoughts and actions so it's would be a person put through a 'toon filter'. How I have the setting set is changed toons very rarely keeps the human mindset, and even rarer change back to human at all. The 'addicted' thing is interesting thou. And any sort of person who 'embraces' the toon-ness would soon be followed with someone else who'd start a movement to make more people in toons, maybe a crazy new religion.
I thought up once with in this world an average girl who worked at an office. Who was turned into a toon and she tried to continue on with her normal life, going on with her job and relation ships. She had all the crazy-wacky toon nature; which she tried to hold down and she trys to keep on being her previous self. But was meet with disappointment when boy friend left her because she simply wasn't the same person anymore no matter how hard she tired.
There's quite a wide range of morel and emotional questions here.
I've pored over all the dark and horrible and awkward ideas that'd come with this sort of thing. I would like to make a comic of it one day. A story that is pretty much the same thing, but different setting. But that's not happening any time soon. And I don't really feeling like doing animation on family disowning there abomination of a son.
So in the mean time with this story and this setting...everything is fine and everyone is happy.
But don't let my little speech hear discourage you (or anyone else who's reading this) from asking stuff dark or fun. I enjoy replying to people with questions.
(and now that I finally have access to a PC again rather than a PSP, I can type without extremely short restriction)
Still an interesting setting. As I mentionned in the other posts though, I guess what I often like is the dual "shifter" type of character. That is a character that gets changed into something else.... but would later change back, but knowing that it is only a short bit of relief until the character becomes their other persona again. A bit like Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde, or some of the more stereotypical lycanthropes(though for some reasons I am not entirely too fond of those where the other self has no sentience/personality left when shifted).
So in a way, I guess I tend to approach things in regard to how both personas, being in the end only facets of a same person, finally interact with each others. This is partly something I'm pouring over as I am working on a wererat character of sort, where both the human and "rat" self are aware of each others. Though they can't directly interact with each others(one being generally dormant when the other is dominant), I was imagining a bit of a story where both the human and wererat selves have taken to keeping a journal, in which their leave note to their "other selves" and through which they argue and such with the other.
A bit as a result of such(and an older art piece done in that spirit, which I had shown to another artist who commented it was an interesting concept he'd wishes was used more often), I've taken to occasionally sketching such characters with both of their "selves" being next to each others, side to side.... but rather than using such a picture as merely a reference for the look of both selves in terms of proportions and appearance, I've grown to use such pictures to actually have both selves interacting and/or speaking with each others... maybe to try to picture a bit how they would react to the others, what the human self might think of his or her "shifted" self... possibly trying to imagine what kind of argument might develop if both personas where able to speak more directly with each others.
In a way, this is partly why I cannot help but look a bit at this shark character, even in an already designed setting, and wonder about a situation where the toon does not fully override the human but is just a persona the human sometimes shift into once in a while. I guess in such a case the trigger would have to be emotional, possibly shifting into the shark for a certain period of time when desiring the attention she is afraid of not getting whereas receiving rejection might be a good way of forcing the shark to shift back into an human(since being rejected is the greater fear of the shark character).
In a way, I guess a way I cannot help but think of a such a scenario would be akin to, good/bad reception of the movie set aside,... the nutty professor. Klump and "Buddy Love" might be opposite... but the later wouldn't exist if the former didn't desire it. Still, one scene in particular is when Klump falls on the video tape left behind by Buddy Love for KLump to see. For some reason, in a setting/universe where the shark and the human character are the dual forms of a same entity, forced to shift back and from to the other, I couldn't help but think it might be something the shark could do when taking over for the first time(still having the memories of the human self), leaving a video tape to her human self where she says she's here and there to stay to garner the attention her human self is too shy to try and garner by herself. For some reasons, I guess it might make for a nice character mechanic of it's own. Both personas are the same person, even if the other is a magnified/desired version of an aspect of the original self that is thus given a life of it's own semi-independent of the original.
Well... a thought like that.
Like I said, it's mostly the fan of designing and concept sessions in me that cannot help but wonders and ponders about a concept. So feel free not to mind it at all. Like said, it just so happen that character and universe design tends to be something I like a lot in general.

I *also* like other people's idea more than my own. I know what ideas I have, and i'm bored with them. So i normally like playing with new things. The onslaught of "hey can you animate this...?" Is really getting my brain all fired up i love what other people think up. And so may people have so many good ideas.
It's understandable. I guess youcould say I tend to approach tfs from a perspective of lycanthrope fan or dr jekyll and mr hyde type characters i have to admit. As such, the changed form might be a "filtered" version of the character's original self and act based on that filter... but here is the thing... these "dualities" are alternating ones... the changed act in its "filtered" way when shited... then change back due to a trigger into his human self...(Continuing in next post due to the character limit)
as the character change back to their human self, they can only behold what they did when changed... knowing fully well it was them who did it, filter or not. And quickly knowing that their next change is only a trigger away(be it an hyde's addictive serum, a lycan's full moon, etc). As such what i like is the duality of behavior and personality of such shifters... what they think of their "other" self... despite the other just being a differing side of their own person.
