"...Still, I can't deny it. I LOVE to win...really, really love it! But if I ever gotta choose between winning and being loyal to my friends...I'm always gonna choose my friends. 'Cause as much as I love winning, I love them waaay more!
-Rainbow Dash"
"...I think it's pretty clear that my visit with Cadance didn't go quite the way I expected. But in the end, I realized that when you're with a good friend, even the most chaotic day can wind up being a great experience that brings you closer.
-Twilight Sparkle"
The unicorn used her magic to flip a few pages ahead.
"...My experiences with the Breezies have helped me to see that kindness can take many forms. Sometimes being too kind can actually keep a friend from doing what they need to do. Pushing them away may seem cruel, but it is sometimes the kindest thing you can do.
-Fluttershy"
"...Being honest sure gets hard when it seems like the truth might hurt somepony you care about, but I think believing a lie can end up hurting even more. Maybe someponies don't care about that, but I sure ain't one of them.
-Applejack"
She sighs, flipping more pages.
"Sometimes, one of your best friends wants you to bond with another one of their best friends. But when you meet that friend, you realize you have nothing in common with that pony besides that mutual friend....
...But when we finally realized that Pinkie's happiness meant as much to us as it did to Maud, that was all we needed in common to bring us together as friends. For the love of Pinkie.
-Twilight Sparkle."
"...But today I learned how important it is to be honest with your friends when they're doing something that you don't think is right. A true friend knows that you're speaking up because you care about them.
-Spike"
"...Through this experience, I proved that the Magic of Friendship is always with me, and I have the power to spread that magic across Equestria. That is the role I am meant to have in our world. It is the role I choose to have as the princess of Friendship! What's wonderful is that I don't have to take on that task alone. I will have my friends by my side. Our new role in Equestria may change a few things, but it won't change the most important thing: the magic of our friendship!
-Princess Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship"
She groans and slams the book shut, looking around the room to make sure no one saw her.
She was setting on a stool, looking at a podium where a copy of the "Journal of Friendship" book her mother had published with her friends years ago laid.
Around her were shelves upon shelves of book, the sunlit room almost glowing blue. She could see birds flying around the full room window.
A functioning giant hourglass stood as one of the decorations.
Canterlot, in order to honor Twilight's impact on Equestria and other places, had made a complete public replica of the home she lived in while she was there. The original was lost due to a sudden break in infrastructure.
She remembers her mother saying that it was one of the few things she's seen replicated almost perfectly, and was estactic that it was opened to the public as a library.
She took a glance at herself in a nearby mirror. She was disheveled, bags around her eyes and hadn't gotten good sleep in weeks. She felt groggy, tired, and defeated.
She looked away and slapped her head onto the book, tears streaming down her face as she tries to take deep breaths.
She felt like she was doing everything she could to get friends. She tried to be nice, understanding, and make herself approachable but nothing worked. She even turned to the journal to try and find answers but nothing seemed to help.
She slapped her hoof on the podium angrily, the sound echoing throughout the room. She heard a soft gasp.
"Eevee?"
Eventide Sparkle could recognize the sing songy voice of her sister anywhere. Sunlight stood in the hallway where stairs lead down to the entrance of the Library. She wiped her tears and turned her head to face her.
"Yes, Sunlight?"
"You've been here for hours."
"...Hours?"
She levitated glanced at a pocket watch she had with her while taking a few steps closer to her. Sure enough, it was mid afternoon.
She chuckles nervously.
"Oh wow, it's really been hours, huh??"
She looks shyly at Sunlight.
"You said we'd spends some time together at noon." Her ears folded, looking away.
Eventide's expression formed into guilt.
"I.. I'm so sorry, Sunny... Maybe tomorrow we ca-"
"You've said that for the past two weeks Eevee! Gee Golly!" She snorted and stomped a hoof down. Eventide's head hung low.
"There's still time in the day. We can hang out now!"
She paused.
"Well. I'm kinda forcing you to be honest. Mom sent me out here to check on you and I think it'd help you."
Eventide's expression changed as she shook her head.
"Sunny, no."
There was a ring of irritation in her voice.
"I need to study. If I'm to take the place of Twi-... Mom as the princess of Friendship, I need to take the time and study for it."
"Always studying isn't going to help you at all!"
Eventide angrily burst out, her voice booming through the room.
"And how do you know?? What can Mom or Momma or dad or YOU for that matter tell me?"
"I can tell you something." She said smugly.
"Oh, pray tell, Sunny."
"You wanna know what mom did that you aren't doing right now?"
"What?"
"Going outside. Trying to meet new ponies and creatures and help them. Not being a literal hobbit."
She sighed and put her hoof on Eventide's shoulder, talking softly.
"You've done nothing but either stay in your room or go here to study. You really need to get out. It'll help."
Eventide looked at her sadly.
"You can't study for everything. Here, I'll take you out and hang out with some of my friends! With most of them, their parents are friends of mom's, too! Come on Eevee, pleaaaase??"
Awkward silence filled the room. Eventide sat and thought. She didn't really feel like meeting anyone new, but it couldn't hurt, could it?
"Fine, but only because I love you."
Sunlight started to giggle, sitting down and clapping her hooves together with glee.
"Oh, thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!! Here, come this way, We'll go get them!"
She started to bounce out of the room, Eventide following in tow with her book as she rolled her eyes.
OH MY GOD I DID IT. I FINALLY DID IT LMFAO
I wanted to draw the background myself, which was the main reason I was so stuck on this lol, but I realized I can just use vectors/recreations that are graciously provided by the community.
Background is from here: https://www.deviantart.com/jeatz-ax.....rior-606463506
Eventide's gorgeous design was designed by
p-pulseeboomb!
This is the first time I've technically drawn them so I wanted to credit, lol.
I've tweaked Sunny's design a bit (and name. I can't rememeber which one of the 3 I went with originally.
Who knows if I'll keep this in chronological order or just start doing things from different parts of the story. Technically I'm already out of order, lol.

I must say -- MLP has some of the most amazing quotes about friendship I've ever heard!
This show is perhaps the most intelligent and compassionate children's cartoon I've come across -- Fluttershy's, Pinkie Pie's, and Twilight Sparkle's occasional meltdowns notwithstanding. (I used to have serious behavioral problems myself, agitated by Asperger's Syndrome -- so I should have a lot of sympathy -- in light of the kindness they otherwise show. If I caught them on a bad day, I would bow to them ... and ask how I can make things better for them.)
To carry on the wisdom, I may have to directly quote some of these, to further them along as memes (one of my characters saying, "I think our favorite cartoon says it best! ...", as an indirect way of giving MLP credit -- so that I don't seem guilty of plagiarism).
