I wish I had a better, coherent backstory prepared, but the best I can do at this time are some tidbits that I (and/or  The_Bromodo ) have already figured out by now.




* Although he's a Paladin now, Aedwyn originally started off battling in the Arena as a gladiator, doing anything from armed combat to wrestling. He was quite popular both with the spectators and his fellow combatants. (For the record, battles in the Arena had a much lower mortality rate than, say, those held in the Roman Colosseum; Arena battles mainly ended via knockout.)

* A friend and partner of his--an Audino who acted as a Healer/Pugilist--once suggested a way to utilize his Heal Pulse via (and I joke not about this) fierce flexing as a way of "firing off" the healing wave. While Aedwyn did give it a shot for a while, he decided it wasn't really for him and opted for more of a "Lay On Hands" approach to using Heal Pulse.

* That being said, he is nonetheless proud of his body, which he put a lot of Effort (Values) into achieving. His armored leather bodice was specifically made to show off his ample pecs and upper arms (but also partly because prior designs which covered his chest felt a bit too tight or suffocating), and he still wears it with his Paladin regalia, beneath his tabard.

* He takes his role as a Vanquisher of Warstructs very seriously--Warstructs are, after all, "perverse imitations of natural, Arceus-given life" that must be extinguished no matter what.

* The shield he bears was originally found inside a chest, and then specially modified for his use; made of highly-durable Steel, it was given a Fire-Eater charm and blessed by the Fae. Thus, while he bears the shield, he has no Weaknesses--just be wary of any enemies with Knock Off.
(Translation: Think of a Steel/Fairy Pokemon like Klefki/Mawile, put it under the effects of Forest's Curse to add the Grass Type to it, and give it the ability Flash Fire. While convoluted in practice, this renders such a Pokemon with no weaknesses.)

* There have been rumors that despite his low-class upbringing, Aedwyn may actually be of royal blood. He doesn't believe this, however, and even if it were true, he prefers not to be given special treatment just for whatever "status" he might have.

* He REALLY enjoys photosynthesis, both for the benefits to his health and for the opportunity to wear as little as possible while sunbathing.

* The petals that make up his hair and beard require regular maintenance, as they eventually wilt. He does this by plucking out the wilted petals by hand, allowing new petals to grow out. As such, this also allows him to experiment with different styles.
