Birdle (NOT TO BE CONFUSE WITH GENERAL BIRDLER) was a SuperHuman Warrior Beast featured on Ep.45 of the Great Mazinger Anime under the command of Scarabeth, the General of the Insect Warrior Beasts. He had a dark blue torso with grey forearms and lower legs, and Orange straps, and a light green skirt adorn with a red/black strip pattern in the middle front. He had a massive armor piece which was attached to the helmet and ran through the back – this had a three cannon on top, plus two more cannons on the lowers sides and the rocket booster on the bottom, which allow him to fly. The Cannons could fire various lasers from them, one electromagnetic, that disorientates the computer systems, another fires Plasma projectiles capable to rip an enemy apart and finally an energy beam that destroys its target. Its real face was located in the yellow diamond shape belt buckle in the chest.
As the Science Fortress prepares new works for Great Mazinger's Computer Systems, and Tetsuya and Jun are once again are bickering with each other (because seriously, this show can't stop making them the Shadows -not clones- of Koji and Sayaka) and Boss taking Jun's side as usual, the Great Marshall introduces to the Emperor the new Beast, Birdle, and provides a demonstration of its abilities on another (unidentified) Warrior Beast (Human type, likely for training). Hitting it with the electromagnetic beam, making go hay wire, then tearing it apart with the Plasma Beam, finally blowing it up with the Energy Beam. Enchanted by the Beast's potential, Birdle boards Demonica and the Marshall selects General Scarabeth to lead the mission.
As soon Demonica is close to land, Scarabeth launches Birdle, and attacks the city, the lab becomes aware and Tetsuya launches Great Mazinger, reaching the beast and proceeds to fight it, briefly taking an upper hand, but Birdle cuts his wing off with the Plasma Beam, making it crash. Jun, begrudgingly, is order to get into action, and learning of this, the Borot Gang soon follows. In the fight, Birdle hits Great with the Electromagnetic and Plasma Beams, making Great Mazinger go hay wire, and attacks Venus A and Boss Borot (cutting one of the arms off). More hits from the Beast make Great go crazy, attacking its allies more and hitting itself onto a mountain side. Realizing what has happened, Kabuto orders Tetsuya to deactivate the Combat system and pulled back Great for repairs, leaving Venus and Borot to fend off Birdle. As Great is been repaired, Demonica emerges near the fortress, Kabuto recalls Jun but she ignores him and Birdle knocks Venus out and buries her in a rock avalanche. Birdle then flies to the Fortress and joins Demonica in attacking the Fortress.
AT SOME POINT AFTER ALL OF THAT, Borot returns with fix arm, and sporting a belt of Smoke Bombs. Borot helps free Venus and the two head to the Fortress, while Tetsuya decides to protect the base using the Brain Condor. In the aerial battle, he destroys the Birdle's booster with Condor Beam and Missiles, grounding him, Venus blasts one of the cannons with her Venus Missiles, but the beast responds by blasting one of the legs off. Borot provides cover with one of the smokes bombs and hide with Venus behind a mountain. Tetsuya is told works on Great are done, and the Brain Condor docks with Great, ready for Round two.
Birdle tries to shutdown Great, but the Mecha kicks him, destroying another of the cannons. With one left, he tries to destroy Great with the Energy Beam, but is distracted by rocket shots from Venus. Distracted, Great throws the Great Boomerang cutting the top cannon, dismantling the last weapon, and with a Spinning blade kick cuts the left arm off. Boss Borot then jumps into the fray and kicks the Beast real face, and while it was a failure (in fact its leg breaks by the impact) it causes some level of damage to its systems, as Birdle goes hay wire there after.
Finally, Great Mazinger finishes the beast with three strikes of the Needle kick, one square off to the real face – Birdle explodes afterwards. Scarabeth attempts to attack with Demonica, but oddly enough he is stopped by the Marshall and pulls off. As the Marshall vows revenge, Great helps Venus and Borot to return to base – later that evening, the Heroes and the science staff celebrate their victory, along with various friends, with a traditional festivity put together by the Borot Gang at their Hangar.
