Babul was an Deep Diving Intelligence Army Warrior Beast who served as the Monster of the Week on Episode 42. He was a Humanoid Beast Red and Dark Red in colors, with Yellow joints, with dark grey curved horns, white hair and purple markings in the face, a Black Belt a yellow belt buckle and orange ornament around it. He also had yellow kneecaps with spikes. Babul has an Ax and Sword for main weapons, the Belt Buckle fired a laser beam and its horns could zap any victim. Also, Babul had an extra Alt-mode which resemble a Diving Suit, meant to protect the monster from the extreme pressures of Deep Oceans, and his hands would change into claws (this form comes out or no where, and may not come from the robot but extra gear for the Beast). His real face was in the Abdomen.

Babul was taken on the Volcano base on the latest plan by the Intelligence Army, to use the Ocean Depths to destroy Great Mazinger. Meanwhile, Shiro, along with Nuke and Mucha, help Borot Water skiing with 3 speed boats, when at a distance they see a long Neck Monster and proceed to chase it, not realizing its a trap by Marquis Janus, and the group land on an island (Janus' Volcano Base). Racing up a mountain, with Borot, the Kids come under attack and are taken by the Catloup Corps, while Borot is attacked by Babul, with an ax. The two fight but Borot is rapidly beaten, his head been impale on the sword. Janus then contacts the Science Fortress, demanding the exchange of the Great Mazinger for the Children. Tetsuya launches Great and heads to the Volcano Base for the trade off.

Meanwhile, the Children jump onto a guard when inspecting the cell and escape, prompting a search for them just as Great Arrives, Janus orders Babul to attack, but do to the hostage situation (and the fact Borot's head was still impale with Boss in it) Tetsuya could not fight back, during the battle, the Babul rips Great's left hand off. Venus A is then launch to provide assistance, and Great Jumps into the water Babul hot on his trail. Meanwhile, the Children sneak into a small cavern trying to escape more Catloups and fall down a crevasse the leads into the sea itself, they emerge only to be found by Venus who rescues them, leaving Boss as the last to be rescue and still been hold by Babul – the Beast then proceeds to go deeper into the sea to in act the plan, with Great right behind him. Great fires a Navel Missile releasing the Borot head, but it is subsequently stolen by a giant Octopus and Babul drags Great Mazinger into the trench, where Janus springs her trap. Janus is then order to attack the Science Fortress.

On the way down, Great and Babul crash onto cliff side, where Babul releases Great, when Tetsuya turns around, Babul had modified itself into its Deep Dive Mode (Transformation is not seen, he just wear Heavy Armor diving Gear and his hands had change from traditional humanoid to Pincer Claws – as far as I can tell this don't come out of the monster, they may had been accessories, as Babul is standing in front of a cave, already gear up with them).

Babul attacks with a powerful light that blinds Tetsuya, grabs Great and Bashes it many times – meanwhile, Janus arrives to the Science fortress and attacks it, learning of Tetsuya's predicament Kabuto orders Jun to launch Venus again to help Great while the Fortress and the Volcano Base fight.

As Babul is wounded with a superficial swipe of the Great Sword to its real face, it grabs Great's legs, dragging the Mecha on the way down to the trench – Tetsuya releases the Brain Condor, firing two missiles onto the Beasts claws, ripping them off and freeing Great and re-docks with it and disposes of Babul with a single strike of Thunder Break. Venus A arrives with a High powered explosive, she drops it and the blast weakens the sealed, allowing Great to break through with Thunder Break and the two Mecha fly back to the Fortress, now listing to one side and on the verge of sinking and Bomb the Volcano Base, causing substantial Damage, forcing Janus to order retreat. Later Great save Borot's head (and Boss) from the the Giant Octopus, which was having a ball of a time with it.
