Velvet is the son of Pinkie pie and the now King Rutherford.
While they considered themselves in a full fledged relationship, considering the tension between ponies and Yaks and how she was essentially sleeping with their leader, they both decided to be quiet about things.
Well, at least until Velvet was born, lol. None of Pinkie's antics could hide or explain that, lol.
Things went pretty smoothly for them though.
Pinkie still needed to live in Ponyville at the time, so she'd come over and visit them every now and then. Every Yak was accustomed to her being there, as she was an honorary Yak of course, especially with her baby now. They encouraged her to move in with them but she never did.
Then, things got bad and PInkie wasn't allowed to visit anymore. With a war delcared on Equestria by the Yak, Pinkie said one last goodbye to her bundle of joy and hasn't seen him since. Both she and Rutherford felt it was best to keep him in Yakyakinstan to carry out his princely duties.
It hurt Rutherford to declare war on them, but he felt it was necessary for his people.
Pinkie still misses him to this day and wonders how he's doing.
Prince Red Velvet Truffle, or just Velvet, is a happy-go-lucky spirit. He tries to keep the energy, party mentality, and love that he felt from his mother when she was around. He does this to try and help the Yak stay happy during the dark times of war.
This guy is a gentle giant. Though he loves participating in the usual festivities of Yaks, he wouldn't harm a soul if he had to.
He has a strange interest in fashion and wants to help Yaks incorperate more vibrant colors in their attire and buildings.
Notes:
-Yes I'm calling them Yaks even though Yak could work too LMFAO
-Velvet is trans
-He's currently trying to use his political power to improve on relations with the ponies and Yaks
-Even though his eyes are showing in the pic (They're the color of Pinkie's mom's eyes, btw) his eyes are always covered by his hair.
-He wears brigher colors than all the yaks and changes his outfits/rugs/ect often.
-Rutherford was excited to have a "Strong AND smart" leader when Velvet came out as trans to him, kinda admitting to Velvet that he considers the males the strong but stupid ones and the Females the less (But still strong) but smarter ones. Rutherford has the spirit but he's not quite there lol.
-I'm not sure if Pinkie knows he's trans yet. Part of me thinks it'd be interesting to keep it a secret but the other half wants to see the Party she'd through for him and how excited she'd be for him lol.
