Tessarus (tez-ur-uss) is a lesser god (and egotistical jerk) who preys upon vulnerable individuals who lack or yearn for something in their life (like fortune, special skills, success, etc.) and offers to grant them any one wish... under the condition that they give up something precious to them - or, alternatively, answer one of his riddles correctly. If the person can give the correct answer, they get to have their wish and move on without sacrifice until the day they die. However, should they answer incorrectly... they will become physically- and spiritually-bound to Tessarus as slaves.

When this happens, Tessarus gains control over the victim's lifespan, thus lengthening it for as long as he desires their servitude (typically for hundreds of years, if not a thousand!) The other aspect he gains control over is the victim's size... he typically enjoys shrinking them down for his amusement, finding sadistic joy in dangling them over his open mouth or pinning them under his sharp claws and watching them beg for their lives. In addition to size and lifespan, Tessarus also has control over where and when his slaves manifest, as he does with himself, though they typically stay trapped at his heavenly abode where he may summon, torment, or leave them at his pleasure.

While not as gluttonous as most of the other denizens, he does occasionally indulge himself, enough to develop a bit of a beer belly... though, regardless of what he eats, none of it stays around on him or turns into fat.

TLDR; Tessarus is a sadistic pretty-boy who is full of himself and enjoys enslaving people and destroying the things they care about.
