SO, I'm baking again, and this is the latest result. An Orange cake! Yeah, it looks more yellow than anything, but it was made with fresh squeezed oranges and freshly-scraped zest. The recipe is below- I claim no copyright to the recipe, just to the results... Not that there's any left. :)

Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
5 large eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
2-1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup whole milk
GLAZE:
1/4 cup butter, softened
3-3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
Directions
1. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in orange juice and zest. Add flour to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
2. Pour into two greased and floured 9-in. round baking pans. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
3. In a large bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy. Add the confectioners' sugar, orange juice and zest; beat until smooth. Spread glaze between layers and over the top and sides of cake.
