Now the fun part, how to communicate.

I am going to reread all of this tomorrow because I forgot, but in case it was answered in the comic already, why is it he can no longer speak their language but can understand them?

Couldn't wait til tomorrow, binged it before sleep as you may have noticed from the bombardment of comments. I now believe he would struggle not only to verbally communicate but also to write, since the language he used to know has become foreign to him but he is somehow able to understand what people say. I believe that although there is so much we can communicate more easily due to having a spoken language, there is much to be said for communicating by body language and other actions. There is so much we forget or just don't pay attention to, that if a situation like this occurs where they cannot talk to one another, communication can be quite the challenge.

This train of thought reminds me of a translated novel I have been reading, called "I reincarnated as a dragons egg," wherein the main character is incapable of speaking. He is able to learn spoken language but unable to use it, and when he first has companions he can live with none of them are capable of speaking. They may not have intelligence quite at the level of humans, but they are still able to learn and think and communicate in a way. Several times up to the point I am at he has been teased with others possessing ways to talk to/with him so for a while he was able to rely on another to communicate though it is strongly a case of he said she said, because the one with telepathy has to listen to one and then say those things to the other and vice versa and it is mentally taxing for the little guy so it isn't able to be relied on most of the time.

Sorry, for most of the stories I read I get passionate about them for a while, even the ones I don't like very much and just read to pass the time. Being stuck at home all the time with no hobby can do that to you.

Step 1: Apologize for night terrors.
Step 2: Compliment her dagger and/or dagger technique.
Step 3: Ask for delicious breakfast.

Their feet don't seem well adapted to riverdance(that's more a hoof thing), but can you imagine the partner twirls one can do with a prehensile tail?

Poor guy. *hugs him* And as for the young woman, I can't blame her for being frightened at his sudden outburst, but at least he can show her he doesn't mean any harm now. He just had a bad dream. And for the record, since he was human once, he should still be able to write in a human language, and thus communicate. I'm just saying.

The language barrier thing is a tricky one to navigate, definitely.

Shame that you can only do one page a week. Whether it's financial, personal, or just the rate art is done I so wish we could get these faster. Some part of me almost wishes I hadn't seen this until the story is all finished because it's such a tease, but at the same time the tease is kind of a part of it.

I will just be happy if you end up seeing this one through unlike some of your other projects. So many good stories ended before their time.

Believe me, I would release pages so much faster if I was able. But even as it is, each page takes me dozens of hours each week. Comics are very time-consuming.

The difference between this comic in others are A: experience, B: planning, C: I'm using my own IP, and D: I'm able to make a living off of it.

Don't worry, I intend to be doing Moonlight Angel for a VERY long time to come. <3

That's all I needed to hear. Not being an artist it astounds me you can even manage a full page each week. The comics that can do multiple pages a week are more an exception to the rule than anything, most are doing well if they can manage one every couple weeks. Still a shame your other comics didn't continue, but then we wouldn't have this one so I guess it's a good thing?

Honestly I feel like it shouldn't be hard for Rohan to explain about what was going on... rather than trying to use words, try to use pictures instead. Everyone can understand a picture far better than words, so as long as the base item is understood by both parties, the message will get across with a mix of nods and shakes of heads.

The top two panels almost reinforce my theory from the previous page. Could still be very wrong, but it's like he was drawing in too much power and had to stop it to not lose himself, the power being drawn in can be seen by those purple tendrils and what almost looks like a purple smoke coming off him in panels 3 and 4.
