Congratulations are in order, you managed to find the final boss. And there he sits, a demon smirking in the ossuary chapel, he’d been waiting for you.
The monster makes no attempt to stop you as you approach his throne, though you feel uneasy about something. Maybe you expected a dramatic speech or an epic confrontation, but the creature seems content to watch you silently.
At first you were angry, but now, you can’t seem to find your anger. Why did you come here in the first place? What did this demon do? The closer you get, the more your confusion builds, whispers intrude, maybe you raise your sword at him, and give your heroic speech!
Or maybe you bow.
The demon adjusts himself on his throne, and waves his hand. A pice of paper unfolds from the air, and a quill pen materializes beside it. Finally he speaks.
“You did well to make it to this chamber, I think it’s time for your reward.”
Fear and anger melt with those words, as the promise of a reward blocks them out. You earned this, and it was time to claim it.
“What will it be? Wealth beyond imagining? Unbound power? Perhaps Immortality?”
The contract and the pen drift towards you… and you find yourself signing the paper
