Second-Praetorian Vakita fastened her remaining gauntlet, passively gazing upon the helm that lie at the table. It was all that was left before she would again head out. She knew well the dangers of the outside; and how inevitably those dangers would spread to the furthest reaches indoors too. She and so many others knew the reality of the situation and the undeniable fate of their home. Yet this was who they were. And still they fought.
