"It'll always be you." He clasped her hand, gazing down at her form below him. "That's why I wanted to do this."
She tried not to look at him. Anxiety swelled inside her as the passion she felt for him made her uneasy. Tears welled up in her eyes, which caused him to tear up too. The passion was intense, and neither could deny that. "I'm so sorry..." she squeaked out.
"It's ok. You didn't know how you felt... and you didn't know how to handle that. I... I always understood." His eyes narrowed. "You don't have to feel so guilty."
"But I do!" She sat up, locking eyes with the hare. "I did so much to you..."
"Nah, I knew." He shook his head. "Really. I'm telling you. It's ok."
"S-so..." She stammered, "You're really in love with me? From your first vision of me?"
He nodded. "I told you. I never believed in that until I met you. You felt like Fate. I had to go with you. If that meant being your Guardian, so be it." He adjusted his glasses and sighed. "I just want to be here."
She gripped his hand in hers, unable to completely do so as the size of his against hers was massive. "I believe you." She said sternly. "I... I've seen love fail a lot and I got scared. So I ran. And tried to hurt you."
"Yeah, I have too." He agreed. "But this is different. We're different. I know we are."
She felt like that was a silly assessment, however, she couldn't deny their deep connection and empathy for one another. They could also predict how the other would respond in conversation. She knew they were in love. And she'd been running from it for a long time. She was tired of running, and wanted to do something about her feelings.
"I know we are too." She said.
