I really want a narrative-drive adventure game where the main character undergoes multiple unwanted transformations.

That's pretty cool although I've been awaiting the day that some modern indie studio takes a stab at the idea. A simple platformer or RPG involving inconvenient tf as a game mechanic would be interesting.
For example, transformations in a platformer could affect your mobility, making some areas more difficult or others easier depending on which form you are currently in. Maybe taking damage or getting hit by special enemy attacks would cause you to move towards being transformed and once you transform you have to avoid getting hit to turn back.
On the other hand, an RPG could handle Transformations as a stat debuff that you have to heal with a specific ability/spell/consumable item. If the party starts getting transformed a lot you might have to leave a member as an animal so you can save your mana/supplies. ^^
