Hoodlins descended from an ancient draconic race once known to roam the mountains and skies of their realm but are far from their ancestors might in that respect; now they stay close to the ground and in place of a cave worthy of dwelling they have cities, airplanes to invade the skies and uh... TV for their wisdom. They're also, though still tall alongside a human, very distant in size from their founding predecessors.

The majority are known to remain close knit with their own with very little human contact but that's not to say some don't furl away to live among them. A centuries old legend among Hoodlins is that during the time their people were magnificent and respected creatures, one eventually broke the only rule that had been heeded for many years - Eat only what is gifted, no man is a prize.
An uproar surged through the lands and for years after, they were hunted, enslaved and murdered. Their precious metal and gemstone skeletons soon were sought after too and the thinning began... eventually the only way those that had survived could see their future's remaining was to adapt. To muster all there was in ways of magic within to transform and disappear into the uncharted areas of the realm. They sacrificed their major magical capabilities, their ability to emit flames and their wings though something remains of them.

Years later and their lineage is glorious. Though the technological advancement has pulled them from the dark ages and into this time, magic - though not as powerful as it once was - is still taught to those who wish to learn; all Hoodlins can inherently puff smoke despite the lack of fire to accompany it {probably for the best}. Rumor is there are even those who dabble in necromancy...

For the most part though, they live very similar lives as the humans of today! They hold down jobs and tend to an education, follow or rebel trends, socialize at parties or just stay in their own space at home with half a dozen pets.
They are as unique as you are.
