This is one of the last walleye taken by me. It was part of a five-fish limit pulled in at Midland's Dow Dam pre-9/11. Never saw walleye surface on their own before the visit. Caught on an artificial bait similar to a Rapala. My tomcat, Ziggy inspects the catch. He loved to help me eat the fish I brought home and cooked.

Have had very little luck catching legal-size fish from shore in recent years and basically gave up. I still have hundreds of dollars' worth of fishing tackle rusting in storage, but that may change this year. One of my brothers bought a cottage on Saginaw Bay where the fishing is quite good. He keeps inviting me to come up.
