General Birdler was one of the Seven Generals under the command of the Great General of Darkness and later the Great Marshall of Hell, and was the commander of the Aerial Warrior Beast Army. Physically, Birdler resembles an Anthropomorphic Bird, with a white crest running from the top to the back of the neck, brown and grey head and neck, with a Brown and Orange body, with a Bird insignia in the belt buckle. Grey color limbs with yellow hands and curved Feet. His armor was a Dark Blue single piece to which his wings were attached to with purple feathers. His beak was brown and sported sharp teeth. His real face was located in the upper torso, and was white with black lines, with red around the mouth area, and it was surrounded by a light green mane.
Birdler supposedly could fly at fast speeds and was capable to fire Ultrasonic Waves from his waves and create shock waves and tornado from his wings (Though this may had been from the other media, as I don't remember seeing him doing any of these in the times he appear in the anime).
Birdler was perhaps the more Bullish of the Generals, and over confident of his superiority over his opponents and was willing to go out and fight the enemy without permission, though he showed a level of fear to the Great General.
NOTE: Again, this is a situation I don't remember seeing in the Anime, and may be seen in the expanded media. Presumably, Birdler's final appearance was on Ep. 47, where Great fought against Tollukan. I had to watch the episode BOTH in its Spanish and Japanese versions just to be certain, and as far I can tell, he survives Great's attack – Great uses the Great Booster, which zaps Birdler, then the Mecha dashes into Demonika through the Control Platform and then control room wrecking the place. Great exits as Demonica submerges and escapes, but as far as it was shown, he was not (or at least doesn't seem to be) mortally wounded. He wakes up in the Control Room, shocked by the event, spouting he had destroyed the Science Fortress. Now, If Birdler did die off camera, he is not given any Funeral in the next episode. No mention, which is a contrast to the death of past characters...
Just before Archduke Gorgon died, he was given praise by the Emperor and was remember by everyone when Janus took control of the Volcano Base in his honor and Generals Julicaesar and Angoras were punished with imprisonment for their inaction in not helping him.
The Emperor and the Generals mourn the loss of the Great General of Darkness for a while, his name been mentioned on multiple occasions prior to the Ascension of the Great Marshall of Hell, and when Argos died, Janus still held to his head as a symbolic way to have him joining in the final battle.
Prof. Tonda, who designed Great's Drill Pressure Punch, was remember by the end of Ep.13 with a Flower arrangement been thrown into the sea, and a Photo of his is seen hanging on a wall on Ep.14.
So what ever happened to Birdler is NOT exactly shown in the anime, nor explain, the one thing that is certain is Ep.47 was his last episode and he was not in Demonica when the Generals gather prior to the final battle. This type of fuck up is where you can perceive the rush coming from series at times, where they even would forget the funeral or memorial proceedings to one of the characters, specially one of the 7 Sub Generals, but then again there were so many bad guys roaming around is not surprising that you can do so little character development in a show meant to last less than the previous one, besides carrying the general traits of trope “Villainy 101”, Birdler seems to be the one that just happened to be there and got the bad end of the stick for his character development, which was nothing. And this was not the only case, Julicaesar's death is not seen on camera (either dying in Demonica's crash or final explosion) and the fate of the Emperor himself left unknown, meaning the Emperor of Darkness may be the last living antagonist to have survive both Mazingers overall and was likely alive and in hiding when the Vega Empire tried to invade Earth during the events of UFO ROBOT Grendizer show.
Birdler has appeared on all the Mazinger Media where the Seven Generals of Mikene had been featured, including the original Manga, the Shin Mazinger Manga, the Shin Mazinger Anime, and the Mazinkaiser OVA. In the Mazinkaiser OVA he is the first General to find Koji's plane, leading the Beasts Obelius, Orbee and Birdian. The Warrior Beasts are killed off by Millennium Alpha, Piloted by Lori and Loru, but Birdler grabs on Alpha, crushing both sisters to death, but not before Lori activated Millennium Alpha's self destruct which took the robot full speed in a Kamikaze run towards the Mikelos, crashing and exploding in the control center, killing Birdler immediately and causing a chain reaction that destroys Mikelos and its crew. In the Shin Mazinger Anime, he is seen coming down from the heavens on a Pillar with the other Generals following the death of Dr. Hell and Baron Ashura's ritual sacrifice in the final episode.
