What else did you expect from a godess?
Why did Hera punish Hercules? Because his daddy was Zeus.
Why did Athena punish Arachne? Because she beat her in a weaving contest.
Why was the Trojan War started? Because somebody wanted a freaking apple!
(Not that the other gods were any better… but these are the ones off the top of my head.)

Well, technically it was caused when the godess "Eros" (Goddess of Chaos) got bored and threw a golden apple into one of the god's parties announcing that it should go to the "most beautiful godess". Aphrodite won by offering the most beautiful woman on earth, which happened to be Hellen of Troy. So Technically it was both, but either way, pretty petty.
