This is a classic meal that I'm sure many of you grew up eating as kids.
For The Soup
1 large can of crushed tomatoes (don't matter if they're crushed or not)
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Seasonings for the Soup (All by taste)
Garlic Powder
Salt
Black pepper grounded
Basil
Start by grabbing a pot and a blender. Throw your crushed tomatoes, salt, olive oil, black pepper, and basil into a blender and blend them together until it's smooths out a bit. While it's, blending throw in your butter allowing it to fully melt, then if your tomato sauce is fully blended pour it into the pot, whisk it together, and allow to simmer covered for 30 minutes.
Now, for your grilled cheese just cook it the way you want as I did nothing special to mine. *
*From Chris - Here, I would have to add the best way to get a crispy outside on your grilled cheese is a VERY thin layer of mayonnaise on the bread. And of course, the more cheese the better - your bread, however, should at least be thick enough to withstand the pan's heat, so please use quality bread, not the cheap stuff!
