The Head man himself just landed at Truax field here in Madison Wisconsin less than 40 minutes ago.
I live not too far from the airport and decided to see Air Force One first hand. I parked my bike not too far from Runway 18, only to be chased away as a "Threat to the President" (along with 3 others who were ready with cameras!).
So I pedaled my bike closer to where I suspected where the Presidents plane would land and park..
I hit paydirt on location.
BUT!!!
My FUCKING Canon S5IS suddenly lost all viewing through the viewfinder and backscreen as Air Force One was landing. So I started snapping photos blind.
I got lucky and manged to catch this of him, I was maybe 275 yards away from this position. Not too bad with a blind camera that now needs to be fixed...which I don't have the money to do...DAMN!!!!
Now...I didn't vote for the man, nor really care for him. But Hey...he's the President. This makes the third US president I've seen with my own eyes...First was Nixon in 68 (shook his hand!), Ford in 76 shook his hand too! and now Obama...Harassed by his security.
*EDIT* Turns out this short visit cost the Tax payers over 1.75 Million dollars, and just the use of the CITY of Madison police, not counting other services, the wall of trash trucks surrounding the school he was at, nor the other county and surrounding townships police units $50K. PLUS AF1 sat at Truax with its engines running on low the 3 hours he was in town...not shut off, IDLING! All this to persuade a Milwaukee mayor to consider running for Governor of Wisconsin. All that expense when they are urging everybody to tighten their belts.
NOT happy about that.

Unlike what you are saying about me, I don't think he is a messiah, but I do think he's a man who is getting more done in his first 8 months than the last guy did in 8 years. it's progress, not regress. and its something that we have not had under republican rule. I feel sorry for the residents of New jersey and Virginia, as they have the bad guys winning in their states.

and black americans will not believe that they too can become president. that's the most important thing. this is a great litmus test for america. Republicans would not like Obama if he was white, either. they did not like Clinton, so they don't like Obama, either. Race is unfortunately still a factor, and until we don't care the slightest if a guy is black or white, but instead how did he vote? what did he work on? what does he stand for? on a man's merit rather than the color of their skin, we are still far from an equal dream.
And Carter cared about his Soldiers and Veterans, unlike this douche-bag that is making it much more harder for Veterans like me getting benefit compensation. When you qualify for 14 different things, it sucks when you only get 10%. Yet that fuckin' idiot has enough money to bus in inner city kids to have a fuckin' hoola hoop party on the front lawn of the White House.

You know what? I like Obama, and I"m proud to say it. I haven't seen him go off on months of vacation yet, I've seen him busting his ass doing what he thinks is right for our country. Fuck the people who can't handle having a president that's not some old white fuck like the last 42. He's still doing his damn job, and a hell of a lot better than the racist fucks who have nothing to do but throw insults at him all day and talk about wanting to kill him.

No, he just jets all over the country and world instead, rare is the man home over a weekend. He's put more miles on AF1 than Bush did in his first term. The thing I've always wondered (when it comes to discussions like this) is whether or not people realize that we (as furries) would probably not be welcomed into the republican party with open arms. After all, it was Santorum who said something about gay marriage being akin to marrying animals. So technically, we are one notch below gay people as far as world perception goes.
I've also often wondered that if after some sort of event (the first mainstream furry movie, etc.), and furries were somehow "outed" to the world, if republican furries, like Fisk and Cigarskunk, if they'd be willing to do something like go on Fox news and defend the fandom (even though the furry and conservative seem to be all but polar opposites).
In all honesty, I feel safer as a furry when a democrat is in office.

I don't identify "as a furry" I have made good lifelong friends in the fandumb, I like the art and fiction, but I do identify as a Republican. I don't care either way on gay marriage anymore, and as far as I am concerned, sexuality is not part of fandom, as much as some claim it is, or whine that that's ALL it is.

My parents went to his inaugural parade - back then the President et all actually walked alongside their cars, so you could see them / wave to them / etc. It's a damned shame that we as a society can no longer be trusted to accept a political loss in a civilized manner, instead of smashing the other kids' toys like the spoiled brats we are. (Really, now, I don't care if you like the man or not - if everyone gunned down everyone they disagreed with, pretty soon we'd be down to one person per continent, and even then only if the remaining souls couldn't figure out how to cross the oceans flying solo...)

Ah yes, the man who was more concerned with courting the Olympic committee than meeting with the military's top Generals while I and the rest of my unit (among others) were getting shot at on a daily basis in Afghanistan. Bravo sir, showing the Veterans you care.

You saw President Nixon too?? I saw him when I was in .... summer before second grade, I think, he was in the back seat of the limosine with the window down, waving to the people outside that included my parents and me, the impatient little kid who was bored and tired of just standing around whose jaw hit the sidewalk when The President was driven out and I got to actually SEE him!
