Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
The head fit is great! For my first time ever wearing a head, I was surprised by how comfortable and weightless it is. As a pre-made, the head is built on a 23 inch standard. My head is slightly smaller than 22 inches, but I am able to wear it quite comfortably with glasses. The foam in the head is lined with lycra, and the openings around the eyes and mouth are lined with minky. It is very soft and comfortable! Vision is pretty good, with a relatively average blindspot. The only thing about the head that makes it a bit uncomfortable to wear for too long is the ventilation. The muzzle is hollowed slightly to make room for the wearer's nose, but the mouth opening being small makes the head heat up quickly. I assume this is a standard issue with most suits that is difficult to avoid!

Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume piece looks from the outside.
As Dusty was purchased as a pre-made, I fell in love with the appearance! The symmetry is fantastic and the shaving is incredible. I can't tell if some parts of the fur were shaved or if the fur is low pile, the shaving is so clean and even. The feel of the fur is soft. The hardest part to tame is the long cheek fluff, but it takes to brushing very well. The eyes are flat 2-d, and they look a bit sleepy and focused when posing, but don't vary much beyond this. Evident in the art the suit was based on, some spots on the face were omitted and the cheek fluff was simplified, but I very much prefer the simplification.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The hands have large padded toes that make dexterity a bit difficult, but they are comfortable and easy to put on. The pattern is a one-size-fits-all, so my fingers slip out of them just a bit, but it's not anything that can't easily be fixed by pushing them back in. I assume this means my hands are smaller than average, but my hands are dextrous enough in them that I can hold a shoelace to play with my cat or hold a pen to write quite legibly! The top pattern of the paws are lined with lycra, I'm assuming to make the foamed part of the toes more comfortable, and that's definitely the case.

Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
While the paws aren't the most dextrous, that is traded for the wonderful, realistic tapered shape of the toes. The claws and paw pads are minky, and the symmetry of both paws is accurate and even. When I first received them, there were some slightly open seams between high stress areas of the toes, like between the thumb and index finger, but it is unnoticeable without scrutiny and is a quick fix.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
I loooooove the tail! It is small and weightless, connecting to the belt with two nylon straps that sit flush to the fur, not exposing any of the belt loops and fitting rather flush with the wearer's body. It is lightly stuffed and ridiculously easy to put on, and I have not had any issues at all with popped seams.

Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
The contrast between the medium-length and long pile fur is excellent and makes for a very cute tail. Shaving and symmetry is even as can be. My favorite part is how it bobs when I walk, as the long fur underneath swishes!

How well does everything fit together and match up?
For both a pre-made AND my first suit, I am delighted with the quality! The head and paws are a little big, as to be expected, but the fit is overall comfortable and I love how it looks and feels in motion. It fits right in with the rest of Houndsteeth's look, and I love it for that.


How easy was it to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Very easy! I had been tempted for a few weeks when I first saw the suit was open to offers, and once I saw that none had been made, I leapt at the chance.


How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take the maker to get back to you?
Very satisfied. Emails were responded to quickly and cordially, often within the day.


How satisfied are you with the professionalism and customer service and of the maker?
Extremely satisfied! Minimal small talk, I was treated respectfully, and I felt comfortable about bringing up issues had I had any pressing ones.


How satisfied are you with how long your project took to complete?
Suit was shipped just a few days later than they intended because their partner was about to leave the country after a visit, but they were transparent about it and I was in no rush. The USPS shipping included a tracking number and it arrived within the next week.


Are you happy with the product you received?
Very happy with the quality and fit! Very much worth the price I paid, and I feel as it will last me a good long time.


Describe your overall experience with this maker.
An excellent suit from an excellent maker! I had been following Houndsteeth's work for a while before they put up this suit for offers because I liked the overall appearances of them, so I am delighted to own one of their suits in a design I really like. Communication with them was minimal because it was pre-made, but I felt very comfortable with their professionalism and I have been tempted more than once to approach them with a request to make a body to match when they open commissions. Alas, I don't think fullsuiting is for me so I don't think I will ever act on this, but I am very happy with how well Houndsteeth's style translates to fashionable partials, and I don't feel at all like there is any debate between the quality of partials vs fullsuits among their suiters. They run their business with aplomb and I am very excited to see what else is up their sleeve!
