Marcus: Huh. if you're so strong, why did you need my help back there?

Aqua: because... I'm scared...I don't know what I'm capable of... I'm still young...my powers aren't fully awoken...

Marcus: ... alright, look. I don't... I don't have any intention of keeping you or anything, alright? That's not my scene. I don't want to be a trainer or a breeder or any of that.
Marcus: Only reason I was sticking up for you was so my dad would not call the lab on you.
Marcus: Tomorrow's the weekend. I'll... I'll help you find a home, alright? Someone who wouldn't mind raising you.

Marcus: Hey. Hey. Don't cry. It's alright.
Marcus: I don't get why you want to stay with me, of all people. I'm not at all the best human for you.
Marcus: But... come on.
Marcus: It's scary, I get it. I don't know what you've just been through. You probably think there's a monster behind every door.
Marcus: I mean, after seeing that thing... yeesh...

Marcus: [wide-eyed].
Marcus: ... wait. What are you saying?
Marcus: Are you saying... you used to be human?

Aqua: YOU HEARD WHAT HE SAID.. I'M NOT A POKEMON... I'M A THING... I'M HUMANITY'S PLAY THING... I'M SOME SORT OF EXPARMENT AND THAT'S ALL I'LL EVER BE... NOTHING IN THIS WORLD WILL MAKE THAT CHANGE... nothing... nothing...

Marcus: [cringes, looks out toward the hallway] Don't listen to my dad. He doesn't get it.
Marcus: He doesn't get me.
Marcus: ... I mean you. He doesn't...
Marcus: ... he just doesn't get it.
Marcus: [goes over and sits on his bed, his head in his hands]
Marcus: I... I think I know why I took you home with me...
Marcus: I'm the same as you. I don't have a future. I don't have any skills, my grades are sub-par...
Marcus: I can barely even keep up at my job.
Marcus: What's the point in trying if I just can't do anything?
Marcus: ... at least you've still got growing to do. I'm at my prime.
Marcus: And yet look at me. Still living with my parents, failing exams...
Marcus: Probably gonna lose my job, and get expelled for some reason...
Marcus: And then what?
Marcus: [lies down, stares at ceiling]
Marcus: What does anyone even do at this point?

aqua jumped in bed with him and went under his arm Aqua: well... what I heard is that...when life gives you lemons...you make pineapple juice and leave life wondering...

Marcus: But that's the thing. Life's not even giving me lemons.
Marcus: it's not... giving me anything.
Marcus: No point. No purpose.

Marcus: Yeah... and I gotta get rid of you tomorrow...
Marcus: ...

Marcus: Nothing.
Marcus: Cause we're getting the @#$% outta here.
Marcus: I wanna just leave everything behind. Screw school. Screw my job...
Marcus: This is fate, right here. You are the first... interesting thing that came into-
Marcus: Sorry, not "thing". Pokemon... person... uh....
Marcus: Aqua. You are the first interesting Aqua that came into my life.

Marcus: You are. It's been the same dull routine for years. Sometimes my pops would... take me somewhere. Try something new.
Marcus: Didn't like it. It was dull. Unstimulating.
Marcus: But with you, I felt afraid. I felt angry.
Marcus: I felt... alive.
Marcus: ... I don't want that to go away. I don't want to go back to my normal routine anymore.

Marcus: [Mid-embrace] Listen. I don't know what to do. I'm just as scared as you are at this point.
Marcus: But we don't have to know what to do. At least, not yet.
Marcus: We can do some research. Figure things out.

Aqua: oh I have something! She grabbed her Eevee plush and unzipped something from the back of it's head and pulled out a blue pill

Marcus: Wh... what is that?

Aqua: some people at the lab said that this pill can turn someone into a Pokemon of their choice...but it's still a working progress...but they said this one is the almost finished product...

Drigil
Marcus: ...
Marcus: ... you serious?

Aqua: nods yes...but for some people who took it...some of them died...or lost their human minds...but they said that this pill that I stole from them was about 90% complete...

Drigil
Marcus: Woah. OK, no. No no no. You- you should get rid of that.
Marcus: That's... that's not a good thing to have.
Marcus: I mean... wait, what if that's what the monster was actually looking for? Not you, but what you stole?
Marcus: I mean, that- ... #$%@, why did you even show that to me? Now this situation has gotten even more complicated!

Aqua: I'm sorry...I thought that if your became a Pokemon...you could leave this life behind... I'm sorry... Her ears dropped down and she put the pill back in her plush

Marcus: If... I became...
Marcus: Ok, first off: eww, I don't know where that pill's been before it's been in a clewed up, saliva-covered, dirt-stained...
Marcus: Second... a chance I'll lose my mind and die? No thanks.
Marcus: And third... I mean, no offence, but if we're in this together, it would probably be better if I stayed human.
Marcus: I mean... you know, maybe YOU should take it.

Marcus: You know, turn yourself into a different Pokemon.
Marcus: Then we can go out, I "leave you in the forest", and then, by some freak coincidence, I "find" another, normal Pokemon that I can take home with me.
Marcus: One that's, you know, not being hunted by Team Rocket and one that my parents would absolutely be thrilled at the notion of me being responsible for.
Marcus: I mean, just spit-balling here.

Marcus: You were just shouting about being nothing more than a "thing"...
Marcus: Well, you... apparently, have the power to change that.
Marcus: As well as the power to change sizes- I mean, where did THAT even come from?

Aqua: they were exparmenting with pokeball technology on me...HEY why don't I just stay tiny and you keep me as a secret pet?

Drigil
Marcus: That...
Marcus: ... well, that will at least buy us some time.
Marcus: You know what? Yeah, let's... let's do that for now.
Marcus: Alright. Tomorrow, we'll head out, maybe for an hour.
Marcus: I'll... I'll tell my dad that you got chased off by one of the monsters, I couldn't catch up to you, you disappeared, and that was that.
Marcus: To him, the lab gets you back, and I can maybe study a little more and get my grades back on track.

Aqua: yay! She hugged him and he rubbed her fur.. she was very soft

Marcus: ... you know, you remind me of Ol' Mighty before she... well, became Ol' Mighty.
Marcus: We... we had some fun together...

Marcus: [Awkward, uncomfortable silence] ...
Marcus: Ahhh... yeah, sure. Why not?

Marcus: Sorry, just... not used to... well, Ol' Mighty never asked me permission. He just...
Marcus: ... yeah.
Marcus: [Passes out; doesn't need the blanket]

Aqua: goodnight... She feel asleep with a smile on her face
(also his dad is aware he's letting a 5 year old girl out alone in the woods

In his eyes, she's a wild animal.

Father: [In his room, with his mother] So tomorrow he'll get rid of this thing, and all will be normal.
Mother: I guess. Still, the two of them together, sleeping... doesn't that just take you back?
Father: Yeah, a bit...
Father: You'd better get some sleep, hon.
Mother: ... uh, dear, is that your phone?
Father: Hm? Oh. Just work. I'll just take this real quick.
Mother: Alright. Don't be long.
Father: [Clicks cell phone and heads to the bathroom]
Father: Hello, this is-
Father: ...
Father: ... ah, yes boss. Doing well. Yourself?
Father: ...
Father: Sorry to hear that.
Father: Yeah, sure, I'll-
Father: ... wait, what?
Father: ...
Father: ...
Father: ... and... when did you say this thing escaped?
Father: ...
Father: ... yesterday. I see...
Father: ... yes, of course, boss.
Father: I'll let you know right away if I see anything.
Father: Have a good night, sir.
Father: [turns off cell phone]

Father: [sticks cell phone in end-table drawer and returns to bed]
