It has been such a long, long time since I have done anything on FA so I decided to take time out of my studies to at least make a submission.
For the life of me, I can't remember who the original composer of this piece is, but I swear I have heard this melody somewhere before.
This has been a work in progress for several years. Started back in early college, freshman year I think. Anyway, I heard this melody once before and got it stuck in my head so I figured it'd be a great way for me to practice writing music for full orchestras.
Also, I don't know the title of the piece either so I'm just calling it Fugue and Symphonia.

This piece definitely has a lot of drama and you do manage to make the contrapuntal nature work for you. It gets especially gritty around 2:15 - 2:25 and I rather like that near verge into atonality that rights itself by 2:30. The section in 3:00 - 3:30 was very powerful, but following it, this section that slows down as if it were grinding away, before it all disappears into a pastoral melody around 4:10 is also very effective.
I guess I'm less convinced by the ending on that pastoral note, but it is still very nice overall. I'd love to hear this played by a real orchestra.
Dominus tecum
