Bio: Gaspardo Ianucci was born on the Island of Sardinia, to a family of staunch Fascist sympathisers. His father Ruggero had fought in the Blackshirts, whilst his mother had been a mistress to one of Mussolini’s great strongmen.
Growing up surrounded by both wealth and intrigue in the cities of the North, Gaspardo never lacked for attention, and soon imbibed something of his father’s brutal politics. Passing the officer’s exam with flying colours, Gaspardo became an officer in the elite San Marco regiment of marines. Handsome and an utterly ruthless manipulator with an eye for women, the dolphin’s fascist background ensured his acceptance into a secretive organization dedicated to anti-communism – Operation Gladio, a formation of stay behind partisans trained by NATO for the possibility of a Soviet attack.
In 1970, the promising young officer was selected for a top-secret experiment, based on tech stolen from a Soviet lab in Kazakhstan. The results were astounding – the young man gained remarkable powers of rejuvenation and physical prowess, together with enhancement of his already formidable aquatic skills.
Unfortunately for the Italian Army, Gaspardo’s fervour turned out to be less altruistic than they had hoped. Within two years of the experiment he had absconded from his regiment and taken a small arsenal of experimental weaponry and serums with him.
Just three months later, the patron heroine of Venice known as La Doge went missing. The vixen’s remains were recovered ten years later in a refuse pit in Macau during a vice raid. She had been dead just four months – it was only then that she was identified as Annamaria Medici, a mother of two who had been an up and coming celloist.
Her capture was the beginning of a career in hero hunting that has seen the nickname La Cacciatore strike dread into the hearts of caped crusaders the world over.
Personality:
In his civilian identity, Gaspardo is exceedingly handsome, well-spoken and seductive with aristocratic charm. This veneer however hides a total and complete lack of empathy or morals, tainted with more than a hint of sadistic misogyny. Said sadism even extends to taking the tails and skins of some of his victims as trophies, and even, it is rumoured to acts of cannibalism. He is also however frighteningly cunning, and an astute businessman, with contacts stretching across the globe.
