I've seen this meme floating around, and I've been meaning to do it for a while. But with the whole Black Tourney thing (at PokemonSuperContests, I've really been in a pokemon mood, so I finally got around to it.
Too lazy to shade more then a few things, so... yeah, mostly flats. Again. I'm such a lazy bitch. |D;;;
Nothing in the meme is 100% accurate, to be honest. I am a very fickle person, and it's really hard for me to stick with any one "favourite" anything. I'm sure a day from now I'll look at this and think "WHAT THE FUCK WHY DID I PUT THAT ONE DOWN?". >_>;; There are just too many pokemon I luv to choose only 17. ;-; BUT WHATEVAR, THIS IS CLOSE ENOUGH I GUESS.
And now, I will list the pokemon and reasons why I chose them. OH BOY, DELICIOUS TL;DR.
[Bug: Shuckle] - I admit, I am not a big bug type fan. IRL, I'm extremely terrified of bugs (I almost fell down the stairs the other night trying to get away from a flying... something. orz ). Pokemon bugs are okay/don't scare me at all, and a lot are really adorable, but... yeah, I dunno. Still don't use them much. But I've always liked Shuckle. It's just such a silly looking thing. XD;;
[Dark: Umbreon] - Pffft, this wasn't an easy choice. D: I was really town between this, Absol, Mightyena, Houndoom.... guh, I love them all. ;~; But eventually I went with Umbreon. Because I fucking love Eeveelutions. ToT
[Dragon: Altaria] - This is one of those choices I already wish I didn't list/had moved to a different space. \= Because I mean, I LOVE Alteria. It is so cute and floofy, and I wish I had one for reals, because I would snuggle the fluffy bastard forever and not get tired of it. But honestly, I think as far as DRAGONS go, I should have drawn Milotic, or Dragonair, and moved this one to Flying. :|
[Electric: Flaaffy] - CAN YOU TELL THAT I LIKE THINGS WITH A LOT OF FLOOF? ;-; Srsly, I love things that look soft and cuddly. Mareep and Flaaffy always make we squee and coo in GLEE at their fluffy goodness. I admit, the first time I owned one, and it evolved into Ampharos, I was so pissed off. |: Ampharos is cute and awesome in its own right (reminds me of a giraffe, and I loves those), but the bitch took away my FLOOF, DAMMIT.
[Fighting: Lucario] - OH HAI, MY NAME IS "PREDICTABLE". NICE TO MEET YOU. :dummy: This one.... was NOT a hard choice. :| I wish I could say it was, but no. Fighting types and I have never really mixed. Partially because I'm more elemental, less physical. Partly because... well, there weren't a lot of cute fighting types. *shallow bitch* Well, Hitmonchan was okay, and Hitmontop when he came out was cool. And I LOVED my Blaziken. But I'm a huge furfag, and like every other furfag ever, I fucking love me some Lucario.
...too bad I can't draw him. 8D
[Fire: Arcanine and Ninetales] - IT WAS A TIIIIE. :noes: I... I had such a hard time with this one. ;~; There are so many fucking awesome fire types, it's criminal. ...except not, because fire is awesome. I almost went for Rapidash, since I'm such a unicorn fangirl, and then Charizard/Typhlosion/Blaziken, because god I love those starters, and... well a lot of others. But in the end, nostalgiagoggles tipped the scales, and I went for my first loves of the fire pokemon universe. <3 I remember the first time I saw a growlithe in an NPC fight, I was like "OH MY GOD WHERE CAN I GET THAT I WANT HIIIIIIIIM. ;______;!!" Then I found out that I couldn't have him, because I was playing Blue version. >: I emo'd so hard.
[Flying: Lugia] - I love me some legendaries, and I love me so flying types. So two at once! :la: Though once again, not too sure this should have made the list here. |: I love Lugia, and his movie will always be my favourite Pokemon movie (well, classic movie. I just couldn't keep up after the fourth one/wasn't going to buy a million fucking DVDs once they couldn't get into theaters anymore), but... idk. Too many other flying types I love. Pidgeot comes to mind, as well as moving Altaria down here, as mentioned above.
[Ghost: Drifloon] - Okay. Seriously. How can this NOT be my favourite? Not only does it have the floof factor, but it is totally fucking silly looking, generally WEIRD as fuck (BALLOON. WAT?), and has the most morbid description ever. HE WILL TAKE YOUR CHILDRENS' HAND, AND LEAD THEM TO THE LAND OF THE DEAD. SRSLY. Oh Driffloon, you freaky bastard, ilu. Never change.
[Grass: Shaymin] - Not AS hard as some of my other decisions, but I waffled a bit on this one too. But god, Shaymin is made of so much blinding cute. And is another instance of "looks so cuddly, I was one for reals". ;~; Had to use it. Too bad it looks... not nearly as cute when I draw it. orz
[Ground: Sandslash] - FUCK YEAH <s>SEAKING</s> SANDSLASH! Oh my god, this will be my favourite ground type forever. This was the character that saved my ass more times then I could count, back in the days of Blue/Red/Yellow. I spammed "Slash" like you would not believe, and it was usually enough to destroy anything I was fighting. Plus it amused me anytime my screen said "Slash used SLASH!". Yes, my shrew was named "Slash", I am so clever, oh hohohohoho~
[Ice: Articuno] - I like legendaries, and LOVE shiny sparkly things. ;~; And back in the day, Articuno was the SPARKLIEST OF THEM ALLLLLL. :la: And that tail. God, I love that tail. Shiiiiny. *o* This used to be one of my absolute top favourite pokemanz.
[Normal: Lopunny] - This one SHOULD have been a painfully hard decision, because I fucking love normal type pokemon. But... but no. No, I didn't even glance at a list. We all know it would go this way. ;~; Bunnies have a special place in my heart, and always will. Lately moreso then ever. >_>a;; And so Lopunny instantly moved up to my #1 slot in pokemon awesumness. Ilu bunnehs. ;-;
[Poison: Anything with a "nido" prefix] - God, I have always loved these crazy things. Nido-Xs have always been awesomesauce, and they always will. I haven't had one in my team in years. >: I need to remedy that.
Fun fact: Back in first gen, I took up the habit of giving my pokemon really weird or silly nicknames. I had a Nidoran pair (male/female) named "Lunchbox" and "Thermos". To this day, I can't remember WHY.
[Pshychic: Mew] - Again, I'm probably being predictable. But Mew is still just about the best pokemon ever, even if just for prestige points. He was the first "secret" character, and manged to STAY SECRET for a really long time because that was the day before everyone and their mother was on the internet. And even if you WERE on the internet, it was still only vague information/there was a LOT of bullshit to wade through. There was no instant messaging, no forums. Only badly made web pages and MAILING LISTS (oh shit, Pokemon123, I miss you, you were amazing). That's the only way you got your information in those days, and god help you if you wanted to try and get a secondary source to back up that information, because there was no Google. Now git off mah lawn. >:E */old woman of the internet rant*
[Rock: Aerodactyl] - Not easy to choose, but not one I waffled much on either. Rock types, again, never been a huge fan/user. But I always did like Aerodactyl. Raised from the dead, made of rock, and STILL able to fly That's pretty badass, yo. (did I just say "yo", oh god I did, ffff-).
[Steel: Mawile] - I don't know what it is about this pokemon. It's adorable and fucking creepy all at once. But I think I've always liked things with appendages that have a mind/life of their own. Like Girafarig. ...Or my Olisikit, Paddy (er, don't ask. This thing is tl;dr enough). ...BUT WEIRDLY ENOUGH, I HAVE NEVER MANAGED TO ACTUALLY OWN ONE OF THESE THINGS. Because I never did get around to getting a copy of Ruby. orz
Idk why it has cupcakes. I just really wanted an excuse to draw the mouth turning back and being all creepy/drooly. I don't draw weird shit like that enough. But I am weirdly pleased with how it turned out.
[Water: Vaporeon] - Something else that should have been hard, but in the end wasn't. Vaporeon was my absolute 100% favourite Pokemon of all time, for ages and ages. So I will forever have a soft spot in my soul for him, even when even more awesome water types arrive in the future.

I have so much to say, so prepare for some tl:dr (but I hopes you will read it anyway because I am slowly working on some art for you :3)
Shuckle: I know EXACTLY how you feel about the bugs and the Bug Pokés. I like Scyther better, though. NINJA MANTIS FTW
Umbreon: I've been talking with a girl who's favorite Poké PERIOD is Umbreon, so right now I likes it. :3 Sneasel/Weavile would be distant seconds for me.
Altaria: I still think that fucker cheated its way into dragonhood. IT'S A FREAKING BIRD. D:< Dragonite is and always will be my fave Dragon until they come out with something cooler.
Flaafy: I don't see why you don't like Mareep better if you like floof so much. If I HAD to pick a not-Pikachu-related thing, it would be a tie between Ampharos and Electrode. I LIKE EXPLOSIONS. >:3
Lucario: I lurve Lucario because it's basically Ryu from Street Fighter. It actually dragged me back into playing the games again (got burned out after G/S/C). All of the Hitmon family is a tied second. As for your drawing, I don't care what gender this one is, I want to hold it close and love on it forever, it is that sexy. So SOMEONE thinks you can draw it, at least. XD
Arcanine/Ninetales: Eh. I'm more of a starterfag myself (except for the Johto ones, for some reason I don't like them nearly as much). Charizard/Blaziken for me.
Lugia: Lugia is freaking awesome (though I liked the first movie just a smidge more), but the only reason I ever have a Flying-type on my team is because I like using Fly to fuck people over. Charizard would probably go here for me.
Drifloon: ...I tried so hard to ignore the implications TT_TT Misdreavus/Mismagius would be my pick.
Shaymin: Your Shaymin is just as cute as official artwork to me, STOP BEING SO DAMNED HARD ON YOSELF. D: Sceptile is my pick, because I like Leaf Blade.
Sandslash: Teh 'Slash is badass, but my favorite Groundies will always be Diglett/Dugtrio BECAUSE I CAN NEVER GET THEIR CHANT FROM THE SHOW OUT OF MY HEAD. Also, they is cute but DEVASTATING.
...Diglett-dig, Diglett-dig, TRIO-TRIO-TRIO... >.>
Articuno: I'd probably pick this too, only because none of the Ice-types really stick out in my head. 'Cept maybe Glaceon. FUCK YES EEVEELUTIONS.
Lopunny: Bunnehs are cool, but my heart belongs to Snorlax. The only downside is it costs a fucking fortune to feed unless you just let it raid the wild for munchies.
Nido-family: Ech. I hate Poison-types, but since I have to pick one, it'd be the Bulba-family as a copout. XD
Mew: I prefer its clone because it's intimidating as hell, it had two good movies and during the second movie it was voiced by DAN GREEN. <3 <3 <3
Aerodactyl: Why not? Rock-types don't stick out in my mind either. MAYBE Onix because of nostalgia. Or Kabutops since it seems like it would be fun to watch fight a Scyther.
Mawile: For some reason, the pic makes me think, "FEED ME, SEYMOUR!!!" XD I'd probably put Empoleon because I love Blastoise so damn much.
Vaporeon: Always seemed so out of place among the Eeveelutions with the fishy features, but still awesome. However, like I just mentioned, I will always love Blastoise because it's a turtle with freaking water cannons in its shell that can pierce STEEL.
