This is a piece done for
csairman of his rough collie as a tunnel rat. I actually really really like how it came out and would love feedback on the sketchier style, and the different paper. Let me know what you guys think!

Probably know this already but i'll write it for those that might not know! :)
"Tunnel Rats" were a group of American soldiers during the Vietnam war whose task it was to go into the enemy tunnels. Something that was absurdly dangerous due to mines. Tunnel collapses and ofcourse the enemy itself.
Rifles were too long so they were often armed with only a pistol. Rarely relying on the flashlight as it would more than likely give away your possition and get you killed more than anything. Listening to whispers and breathing.

This is fantastic! The beyond apprehensive expression, rumpled uniform, and even the different paper come together to make this a really eerie, unsettling illustration.
I think it's something about the red-brown color of the paper that helps it drag you in more than standard white paper. Kind of like a soggy letter from the field, or even faded film.
Seriously, I love this so much! I hope my feedback helps as well.
