whoa, that means so much that it actually stayed with someone even
thank you comments like this mean a lot to me
i am physically comprised of at least 40% fairy tales
and yeah it is the, good classic where being, ambitious, or powerful, or clever, isn't nearly as important as just, being a good person
from a still unfinishedthing where the pirate king comes up:
Gaeger just nodded, politely, and with clear discomfort. "Did you ever meet--him?"
"The Pirate King?"
"Yeah," Gaeger said. His voice was quiet, like he was afraid the Pirate King would hear himself being talked about. Which, fair, he might, you never know.
"Yeah. I was a child. It was after my brother pushed me into the Ocean and I was still uh, learning how to not set everything on fire, but we had a coral ship, so, inflammable, at least. He told me uhhh. You know. The things you say to bathers. Look at it as an opportunity, make it your strength. Well I mean I sure as breaking did, haha!" That had actually been one of the most meaningful moments of her life but it was hard to take it so seriously when butchering the memory with her trash words. Like, imagine you heard the most perfect song in your childhood, and now someone threw a guitar at you, and you don't even know how to play the guitar, and now you're supposed to play that song from memory right now? Yeah. No.
"What's he actually like?"
"I mean. He's the Pirate King. If you heard a story about him it's probably true."
in a world where magic powers are pretty easy to get if you want them, the pirate king's only power is he'll believe in you and encourage you
he currently has the most powerful puppeteer in the setting and one of the more powerful auroral beast binders, among other things
this is either a classic fairy tale moral in the end or not
i'm not even sure at this point
