A tribute to the victims of Pittsburgh... heavy as I could get it.
That's a stoat with a torn sleeve, for a death, beginning to recite the Mourner's Kaddish. And an initial discussion around "vague forms" began to feel like more about the empty space and the people lost. Thus picture grew and evolved quite a bit. We're all attached to our ghosts and keep company with them... not necessarily dybbukim.
That's one of my favorite Jewish things: the prayer for the dead doesn't mention death. Not even torturous metaphors about dust. Refeshing.
With his granted permission, I'll have this in the MFF art show. Profits to go to Tree of Life.
I intent to paint the names of the departed on the frame. Hy"d.
