Not a bad bit of work! I like it as a piece of art, very dynamic and fun.
I am guessing this is an axe kick from the action lines right? If so, props for realizing there is more to the world than roundhouse kicks.
Please don't take this the wrong way... I like the picture... I just... I...
I just want to go off on the bad form for the kick.
(Picture an angry bird here...)
*back hands feline martial artist*
Right hand is way out of place! Place in shuto, even with shoulder or as fist in same. How will lead arm guard kidney or face? Bad kitty!
*roundhouse*
Left hand! BAD! Do not place thumb behind fingers in fist! Or tighten first knuckle into tiger's paw! You are cat, fight like one! Don't break thumb like chump!
*shin kick*
BOW TO YOUR SENSEI!
*preens feathers*

"Second off, you're gonna learn to discipline your image. You think I got where I am today because I dressed like Peter Pan over here? Take a look at what I'm wearing, people. You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it."
I've seen far less amusing ways to critique a drawing, that's for sure. :) I'm gonna guess you're one of those people who can't stand watching hollywood martial arts? In any case, not everybody has the gift for drawing body poses beyond the norm, and martial arts poses can (arguably) be some of the hardest poses to draw. Pic is well done, and critique is informative. Can't wait to see if the fight takes off! I can see it now. Round 1 ... fight! *bows to Sensei and artist alike*

Yes, a martial arts pose is a pain. Oddly before I jacked up my leg I used to draw people at the dojo to explain to some students why you block the way you do and the kinetics/anatomy behind it. That was how I learned to draw people. Martial arts poses do test your knowledge of anatomy and motion.
All said, the only major issue I had with the picture comes from the subject having bad form for her kick. That having been said, the things that are 'wrong' are all things I've seen in real life and are believable, so it does not kill the suspension of disbelief. As such, the picture is a good work in and of itself. I just fear for the poor kitty's health in the coming battle. :)
As for good movies, it depends on the martial arts movie really... If they can be consistent enough to suspend disbelief I'll let a LOT of things slide. Dumb, exposing moves though will make me groan a bit though.
