If I don't draw Mona Lisa at least every six months, I stop being able to draw, haha. She's all like casual and hearty and I like this version! I ship her like craaaazy with Raphael, because of course old cartoon 'verse has a very special place in my chest receptacle :P
Anyway, Ninja Turtles belongs to Mirage, but Mona might be property of Playmates? I'm not sure. Anyway, she's not mine.

"The Mac Dad will make ya' jump jump! The Daddy Mac will make ya' jump jump!"
In this instance I'd refer you to the Old TMNTestament, the Book of Mona, Chapter 83 Versus 6-10: "What the heck kinda lizard is Mona Lisa anyway? AND how did she turn into a lizard when there was no mutagen or an animal anywhere around during the explosion that turned a physics whiz into a lizard?"
You know, for a physicist, you would have thought she would have gone for Donatello...
And yeah, I think eighties/nineties cartoons in general are a goldmine of, shall we say, offbeat subject matter, haha.
Diggin' the limb positioning there.
I don't think the toy execs at the time realized how many girls loved the show, but it's pretty obvious now that it wasn't just boys rushing to the TV every Saturday.
The only lizard girl I ever thought mattered.
Good to see her get some fan love. :)
Quite possibly my first crush.
Anywho, great love for Mona Lisa, but damnit, what's it about Raph. He gets Mona Lisa in the cartoon, and Ninjara in the Archie Comic series. Where's the love for the other brothers...I mean unless April is really that freaky off camera...
Ever since art & arch in college, I've always thought it was funny that it's really Michelangelo that was the hotheaded jerk, and Raphael that was the easy-going get along kind of guy. Leonardo and Donatello's characterizations are a little more accurate, or as accurate as pizza eating reptiles can be, haha.
Yeah Mona Lisa's the best. For all the efforts they put into fleshing her out I've no idea how she got skipped for being a recurring character.
Best.
Episode.
EVAR.
I think Mona solidified the anthro fandom in my heart long before I knew of the "official" fandom. I searched for YEARS to recapture that episode, and I found a VHS copy totally by chance at a Blockbuster clearance sale. Of course, fast forward several years to YouTube and now who cares...But Mona rocked. And they never used her again (to my knowledge). SUCH A MONUMENTAL WASTE.
Of course, I also fell in love with Archie Comics' TMNT rendition of Ninjara...but that's a whole 'nother ball of fur.
Great work as always, Miss Angrboda. I desperately love your style.
