So he 'lives' in the belly of a bigger robot? Seems sort of awkward, but I guess if it works it works.

Who does he fight, and what's his role out of combat? Really like this whole thing you've put together

I wouldn't say live, it is only used if deployment is in a further location. Plus there is a pilot, the mech on its own can't function. Opponent wise either kaiju or similar mechs.
