This an Update to an old drawing of the MechaDon Robot. Hope to do the same for the other Mecha pics I done in the past, as well, new ones.
Only featured in the anime adaptation of Go Nagai's Kotetsu Jeeg, MechaDon debuted on Episode 5 of the show and was the petty ego creation of Don Kurowashi and his Mechanic Pancho who were able to convince an old friend from Judo Class, Harada, to allow them beat Hiroshi on the hero Business fighting monsters by building a robot and reminded him of his past defeats at Hiroshi's hands in the school. Harada agrees and allows them to take all the broken cars to build their new robot. Thanks to his engineering skills, Don and Pancho completed the robot on time to help Hiroshi and Michi deal with the Haniwa Phantom Mamora, as a magnetic storm affected their region, which impeded the assembling on Jeeg. While brief and taken out in a few seconds, MechaDon help them buy enough time to let the storm pass and Jeeg to assemble himself.
Overall, MechaDon and his pilots would serve nothing but been the Comical Relief in the show, and would be beaten or destroy with ease by the monsters, mostly allowing to buy time for the heroes to show up and finish the job. MechaDon would see action in 11 episodes of the show, before finally been crushed by the Phantom Daira in Ep.16, and replaced by the MechaDon 2 in Ep.17 http://www.furaffinity.net/view/29780000/.
His design is a Yellow Humanoid and Orange Torso, with two red buttons, grey arms and red hands. A Pink goofy face with a big chin, that resemble Don's, and wearing a red cap. The robot is mounted on the front end of a giant Red Color formula 1 racing car (a nod to Don's profession of Race car Driver) propelled by a large Jet thruster. While mostly meant for land, MechaDon could be refitted with wings on his arms and on the side of the car, allowing it to fly. In its flight mode, a turret would be strap on it support spine, but would barely prove to be ineffective still. The Copilot would climb on his back and hold himself by the rope around the neck, while the pilot would operate the Robot in the car.
Similar to the popular Boss Borot from the Mazinger Z anime, MechaDon was named after Don, and a lot like his Junkbot compatriot, was useless in battle, been taken out as soon it shows up to fight a Phantom, at times lasting shorter than the Borot. Also, much like Borot, MechaDon shown signs of been sapient and self aware and show emotions, this is noticeable during his unveiling ceremony to the TV viewers, smiling when the camera pans to his face and when its surprise by a Haniwa Phantom.
