Last Go Nagai Kaiju for the October fest, don't worry, more will come in November and December.
Garura (Galura/Gharra/Garaal) was a anthropomorphic Bird like Haniwa Phantom, with big light yellow eyes and red color bat wings. His body give a look to be compose of dark and light brown bricks and stone which were located on the forearms, lower legs feet, upper body and waist, with tunes of blue in the extremities. He could spew red fire from its mouth and his sharp wings were able cut any object. He had rocket boosters at the bottom of its feet to help him achieve flight, he is also seen to bring out a needle from it's mouth in the episode, to likely refuel his fire weapon. Garura was featured on both the original Manga and was the monster of the week on Episode 4 of the Kotetsu Jeeg Anime, which featured Jeeg's Mach Drills.
After been brief of Jeeg's new weapon by Prof. Shiba and the Lead Base Staff the day before, Hiroshi learns of two Fighter Jets been shutdown by an unknown assailant, while reading of the discover of a giant Buddha Statue, which kinda peaks his suspension. However, Don comes in and challenges Hiroshi to a race, Don racing on a modified car with gadgets to help him win, much to the annoyance of Hiroshi – after one of Don's gadgets nearly hits Hiroshi, he stops on the site of the Buddha Statue, and takes a sample for testing to the lab, which later is discovered to be magnetize, confirming it to be another Phantom. That night, the Buddha statue comes to life and moves down the mountain and attacks the nearby city and the refinery, at one point, pinching an oil tank to fuel his primary weapon. Hiroshi and Michi are sent out to stop it.
Once Hiroshi arrives, the Buddha tries to destroy him, but Michi opens fire with her missiles, tearing the shell apart and revealing the true form of Garura and the Monster goes after the Big Shooter, flying close to a tower, cutting it with its wing and the structure falling over Hiroshi, knocking him out. The Orochi Fortress then comes out of the water, forcing Michi into a nose dive to avoid it, but crashes unto an underwater Rock at the bottom of the bay, knocking her unconscious, Amaso then orders Garura to continue its attack to search for the Bell. Prof. Shiba finds out of Michi's and Hiroshi's state and launches a Sonic Wave to wake Michi up, the Big Shooter design to protect her from fatal harm of the Waves. Prof. Dairi proceed and the Sonic Waves wake her up. Michi comes out and uses her missiles to wake Hiroshi up (OKAY, KINDA OVER DOING IT, PEOPLE!). Hiroshi then transforms and assembles Jeeg and the two giants fight, Garura avoiding most of Jeeg's weapons, and spewing fire onto him when Jeeg uses his Magnetic Power, avoid the Jeeg Break, then the monster takes the upper hand and covers Jeeg in fire, Michi assist Jeeg by blasting dirt and debris over him to put the fire out.
Amaso uses the Orochi to distract the Big Shooter while Garura finishes Jeeg, it then burst an oil slick, making a ring of fire around the Robot. Garura then shows up from behind and puts Jeeg closer to the fire, while blasting more of his own from the back of the neck, attempting to decapitate him. Hiroshi, inspired by Don's early gadgets, fires his Knuckle Punches in a spinning pattern, which returns to its source, he docks and punches Garura, releasing him from its grip, and the Build base fires the newly completed Mach Drills, both Jeeg and Garura dock as the Drillers fly low. After firing the Dynamite Punches on the Phantom to get the upper hand, Jeeg docks with the Mach Drillers and pursues Garura in the air, catching up to it and dispatching the monster quickly. The Orochi Fortress retreats and Himika vows to persist in getting her hands on the Bell.
