Continuing with the Kaiju Parade, we Virgle the last Warrior Beast drawn for the October Fest.
Virgle was an Intelligence Army Warrior Beast that serve as the Monster of the week used by Marquis Janus on Episode 23 of the Great Mazinger Anime, which marked the introduction of the Marquis in the Anime. He had a Roman-like battle dress and chest armor, with black feet and straps across his legs, large sharpened shoulders and a bird like head with bizarre markings under the pink eyes, and a large retractable spike for a mouth. Virgle could retract back his mouth spike and use his swinging axe, chained to a spike flail, as weapon of choice. As well had bladed boomerangs in each knee and rocket launchers in its wings. Its true face was located at the top of his forehead.
After the Emperor punishes Generals Julicaesar and Angoras for the death of Archduke Gorgon, Prime Minister Argos introduces Gorgon's replacement, Marquis Janus, who then assumes the position of new Commander of the newly finished Volcano Island Base, vowing to lead to victory in memory of the late Archduke in her speech in front of the troops and orders the base to submerge to begin the attack – Virgle is seen in its hangar been given final maintenance before the attack. In the meantime, Tetsuya and Jun return to the lab from a day of ice skating on the snowing mountains with Shiro and Haruna, the two decided to stay behind (FYI: greatest thing about this episode, Borot ice skating with grace). Prof. Kabuto informs them of the sinking of the Volcano Island and Tetsuya takes off on the Great Mazinger to explore the area, for the security of the ships that travel the area. When he reaches the final position, Great is shutdown by a missile and sinks to the bottom of the ocean, been imprisoned by an energy Bubble created by the base. Janus appears on the snowing mountains in her human form and calls upon Virgle, Mikelos comes to shore and the Warrior Beast attacks the city making its way to the mountains, Venus A is then launched to confront it. As Tetsuya wakes up he discovers he can't break the Bubble.
Virgle arrives to the snowy Skating Resort, attacking the people, and fights Boss Borot, fortunately, Venus saves Borot on time but the two are pin down by the Beast, as Shiro and Haruna encounter Janus in the woods and both are scare into unconscious state when she shows her terrifying Old Hag Face, with Mikene soldiers carrying them away. After Venus and Borot were dealt with, Janus orders Virgle to attack the Science Fortress. Meanwhile, Tetsuya uses The Pressure Punch and Breast Burner to weaken the bubble. The Marquis finally introduces herself to the lab as Virgle arrives, with Shiro and Haruna dragged along as hostages, and the Professor is force to surrender himself. Tetsuya then uses the Rust Hurricane on the Bubble which allows it to float back to the surface, as it emerges, the Bubble burst do the change of pressure and Tetsuya flies back to the lab - (DUNNO HOW THAT WORKED: not even the Great Sword, Rocket Punches and the Great Burner could burst the freaking thing).
Great arrives, and in the panic, Kabuto grabs the children as Janus flees, Great knocks Virgle with the Rocket Punch while killing some of the troops – Great and Virgle then fight each other, but Tetsuya takes the upper hand, by ripping the spike from the face, tearing a hole in the chest with the Drill Pressure Punches, then melting the missile launcher with the Great Burner. Great Mazinger finally dispatches Virgle with the Rust Hurricane.
An irritated Janus returns to the base empty handed, and on one of the rarest occasions, actually receives praise by a high commander, as Argos, in the Emperor's name, congratulated her on her very first campaign. A grateful Janus then vows revenge on Great Mazinger.
