I had drawn Spring-Heeled Jack as a male ghoul last year but here is a random ghoul. Ghouls (whose males are scarce) originale from Maghreb and Araby legends, but ended up to arrive in France and England. In the desert, they attract travellers with their charms before taking a zombie appearance and eating them. But they are very stupid and can be trapped easily. They also are scavengers and wander around graveyards, and fear the sound of a bell. Saint Gudule is said to have been a converted ghoul, "Gudule" coming from "ghoul". It annoys me how modern language came to the conclusion "ghoul" is a female ghost, those are different creatures !
