S.H.A.D.O.W.: Stalker of Chernobyl
"I'm not quite sure what happened here, but the aftermath is almost as terrifying as the creature that roams it now. Whether it's something we made, or some kind of demon... You can't argue, this is where it belongs. And now... We're in its territory."

I don't even know where to start on this, it's just so absolutely incredible! It's a picture that just pulls me right into the midst of the scene, puts me right behind that rubble and in fear of the creature before me. The atmosphere of ruin, cataclysm, and apocalypse dominates the space as the city falls to nature even while fires still burn. It reminds me a bit of Darksiders, really. It may be a nightmare landscape, but nevertheless it's one I want to visit someday, if only by image and story.
But the real center of it all isn't the mystery of what happened, or the realities of surviving in the wastes, but the immediate threat that the creature before us represents. It's been a puzzle for me to figure out, and never gives up more than enough to string me along to the next clue. It plays predatory games with me even as I try to just learn about its very being. In this case, I know that it is both feral and highly intelligent, and it engages all of its senses in finding prey. No eyes to see, but with ears to hear, a keen sense of smell, and an uncanny sense for fear. It loves a terrified target, because they're so easy to hunt down and devour. Anyone who wishes to study this place, this thing, must be a master of their emotions.
