Did you know, curiously, most Alaskans actually don't like Balto?
Mainly because he actually didn't do the most/worst of the run and stuff. He was just the last dog in the finish line and the movie completely glorified him and made him into a big deal and a lot of people felt it was unfair to Togo (who did the longest and most harsh part of the journey.)
I personally really love the movie, but I know a lot of people who dislike it because of that.
This is a super awesome piece of art, btw!

Fully agree and I think a lot of them did get quite a bit of love from Alaskans.
I actually feel really bad for what happened to Balto later (even though he had a happy ending.)
Even now just for the iditarod for just the sack of the race they better appreciate those dogs!
