It's hard for me not to get carried away on paintings. This is about 1.5 hours of work on the character. I need to adjust the lighting on the body before I can add markings and refine details. I am learning how to make colors more harmonious in a picture from a friend. What I have found that going over the character with a light spray of a dominant background color helps integrate the character. I sample colors afterwards to understand what color I was looking for in the first place. As always I stray away from blacks, grays, and pure white to define volume.
