This is based on a picture I found somewhere that showed Link pointing at the painting at the Mayor's Residence which is only in the 3DS version. I think it would have made more sense if the Receptionist told Link about the painting like if Tatl flew to the painting and when you hit "Check", thr Receptionist describes the painting.
